Drill through the bottom of the oil field to the other side of the world and suck up the oil from the bottom of the Pacific ocean.

Controversial opinion but cricket that is so far in favour of the batters is actually dull. #T20WC

Could be. I mean Succour means "run to help" so I'm sure the leaders in the country would interpret it that way, but I listen to how it sounds.

How I've learned that certainty is the thing to really fear After five decades hosting radio phone-ins and debates, Nicky Campbell reflects on the state of public debate

Nicky Campbell is correct that certainty is the curse of our age, but the fact he thinks that "ordinary British people" phone into his show shows a staggering lack of awareness. Anyone listening can tell a lot of them are fruitcakes.

So another stat. Jacob Bethall got his first first class century in a Test Match (Ashes no less!), his first 50 over century in an international, and his first T20 century in an international. That's got to be a first!

An interesting question for statos.. Is Jacob Bethall now the youngest player to have got a century in all three formats?

Any ideas @zaltzcricket.bsky.social ...

A small girl wearing a rabbit costume and blue coat carries a book as she walks to school.

Her mother (head out of shot) wheels her baby brother along in a pushchair.

The baby says "Peter Rabbit may be the 'Hero' of the story, but surely the obedient, widowed Mrs Rabbit is a more effective symbol of the oppression inherent within Mister McGregor's regime"

The girls looks furious and snaps "Mum!! He's critiquing my world book day costume from a marxist perspective again!"

Finn Allen's Indian Premier League price is going to be interesting after that.

XCode ++ Compiler developers. Please don't declare type names for obvious things in the global namespace. Did you realise how much client code you break by adding a typedef for "Point" into MacTypes.h?!
