Talking Heads I think?
But how am I supposed to feel morally superior to tourists fumbling with their clumsy swipes while I enter in one smooth, practiced motion now?
I pitched my wife a version of the same earlier: a big city woman returns to her hometown and shows her high school sweetheart that his life is actually quite boring and makes him regret staying.
This is perhaps a shallow reference, but my all time favorite portrayal of those guys is Ted Faro from the Horizon games. A tech billionaire who causes, and then attempts to extend longevity through, the apocalypse, with disastrous personal consequences.
Animorphs is better than The Chronicles of Narnia.
hey what do you know, itβs Bandcamp Friday! 100% of proceeds go directly to artists β my Linktree in the follow up tweet:

With zero context for the PR, I like the idea that the concept of things predictably follow other things is getting a gritty reboot.
Today I was reminded that no matter how sober you are, if youβre driving at night at put on 70s Miles Davis, youβre instantly On Drugs.

Iβm ready for Bull Moose Party 2.0
posted this four months ago but tonight as buckaroos like mamdani sweep elections i will post again. hope this is sign to all establishment goofs that trotting to the center is not the move. protect the buckaroos who are in perilous circumstances and do not give an inch
Funny, thatβs a lot of folksβ definition of βcensorshipβ too.
wanna feel old? she's a middle-aged, VP of Operations dirtbag now
Iβm picky about my dev workflow, so adopting new tools takes time. But Iβve used git worktrees exclusively for the past year and have loved it. π
Theyβve been game-changing as my engineering impact/scope has grown.

Question from someone interested in but ignorant about Rust: is that inside of an unsafe block? Or can you do SIMD instructions in normal Rust?
ARM simd based implementation of interleaved to planar stereo audio conversion, in Rust
audio programming scratches an itch i miss from game engine/tools dev - a genuine reason to obsess over latency & quality, enough to write explicit simd
Yes! One of my favorite programming posts is still www.rossbencina.com/code/real-ti..., not because itβs applicable to my current work, but because it starts with a real, data backed, latency number.
Here's another good'un.

Probably not. Iβm either the guy who says that thereβs a logical explanation for all of this before being killed to show that no, thereβs not, or the guy who says we should get out while we can before being killed to show that, no, we canβt.
And any reassurance that it gives that itβs seen this 100 times before, and really, your partner is having a tough time but she and the baby will be fine, will ring hollow if you know the first thing about LLMs. The worst form of βyouβre absolutely right!β
And I can say, from experienceβagain, mine wasnβt the important one hereβthat an AI doula wonβt hold your hand as you cry your eyes out because you just heard your kidβs first sounds.
I wonβt act like my opinion does or should carry any weight here, but having watched a doula assist in bringing both of my kids into the world, I can say with confidence that the idea of delegating that work to LLMs shows a poor understanding of medicine, humans, and LLMs.
Oof, Iβve seen that one before, itβs not an enviable task.
I see youβve written enterprise Java before.
I always experience it as my conscious mind finally being quiet and just experiencing the sound, and yeah, itβs the best.
