I want to underline that: how very difficult a process of healing it has been.

Because it's surprising that simply witnessing the full-scale moral collapse of the United States has shifted the network in my brain to think less about harm avoidance and more about harm reduction and doing good deeds.

And just so I'm clear, this anxiety is debilitating and real. My hands used to bleed from all the washing. OCD in my case was related to both PTSD and a bacterial infection.

This isn't the kind of affliction my brain is wired to shrug off overnight. The basal ganglia suffered trauma & inflammation.

I used to suffer fromβ€”and retain remnants ofβ€”a subset of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder referred to as "ethical OCD," where I severely worry about harming others, even accidentally.

But my prognosis improved simply by witnessing how unrepentantly evil people can be. The Trump era was a watershed.

$25 gets you a thank you gift β€˜horse’ sketch of a something that may leave you questioning which of us is grounded in reality.

In the meantime, cat!

An opinion that makes you a fringe radical in this country is that the life of a person who is not an American citizen is not an abstraction, and is worth just as much as that of an American citizen

It's actually something of a problem when it comes to family pictures.

I'm a simple millennial. If someone says, "do a barrel roll!" I immediately reply, "it's called an aileron roll."

Receiving a "Congratulations on completing your degree!" message from the university when I simply asked for a new diploma with my new legal name is very funny.

I guess I have two BAs now, at the cost of one!

I think I'm going to keep going with my streaming + vinyl buying mode though, because tbh it's working for me even if the companies all suck

I do miss my little 3,000 file mp3 library from way back when, though

Oh, sweetie. Most of us would love to have lives so easy and free of real conflict and oppression that this would be the thing we bring up in public.

When Saddam did this in 1991, it was considered emblematic of his unhinged evil, and seemed to justify at a stroke America's decision to go to war with him.

What we've done to Tehran will follow our name like what we did to Hiroshima.

There's several newer bookstores in the Minnesota metro that have opened to shelves that are 50% romantasy. And it's easy to make fun of trends and fads, but the lasting one here is that an already literate American locale now has even more bookstores. (The wide rejection of Amazon doesn't hurt.)

EA rewards expertise and wild success with layoffs.

When your games get worse, it’s 1000% because of gross and uninformed decisions by execs who don’t care for those who make their success possible, or for the institutional knowledge that allows for future greater games.

This needs to change.
