A bit late to the #northernlights party but southern shorelines of Ireland see this display only rarely.
Last night was exceptional.

All depends on whether you expect a βlinksβ experience, Howard. Because Old Head is not that.
It may cause some 'debate' on its design quality but, whether you like it or not, Old Head offers a cliff-top, ocean-roaring experience that no other course can match.

Not a bad view for 10pm

Perfect golf weather. Enjoy it. Feels close to the soul of golf
Yea, βshortβ is not the word for the 4th!
That was about 9pm on Co Sligoβs 18th fairway.
Who needs a caption?
Most welcome, Frank
Fabulous course

The par-3s on the Powerscourt West course are one of many stand-out features - the greens being the biggest - so hereβs the first par-3 youβll encounter: the 2nd.

Some early morning reflections looking down the 4th at Bunclody Golf Club

Some morning sunrise from today
Early morning light hits the 9th green at Bunclody Golf Club, Co. Wexford.

The clubhouse at Bunclody Golf Club is one of only two thatched clubhouses in Ireland.
Just one more ingredient in the wonder of Irish golf
One of Irelandβs lesser known parklands is Macreddin Golf Club, particularly significant as it was Paul McGinleyβs first design.
The course roves over two sides of a gorse- and pine-drenched valley.
Pics from past two days.

14th hole at Marianna Butte Golf Course in Loveland, CO.
For places I've played a lot, I still miss playing the 14th at Marianna Butte Golf Course in Loveland, CO. A very fun public course. (photo mine). Colorado provided a lot of opportunities for downhill (and uphill) holes.
A beauty alright
The short par 3 7th hole at Pebble Beach with waves crashing off shore.
I love short downhill par-3s. This would be my most memorable location: Pebble Beach's 7th (not my photo)
A popular #golf question seems to be: what is your favourite par-3?
So, show us a picture of your favourite short hole and tell us where it is.
Mine is the 14th on @carnegolflinks.bsky.social's Wild Atlantic Dunes course.

Very true. One of the best.
Laytown & Bettystown had a strong out and back rooting, but that was changed due to some danger points a few years ago.
The new bunkering at Royal Dublin is very good , IMO
Whatever works, eh!
Once upon a time, the 18th was a par-5
A panorama of Royal Dublin's par-3 7th green, shot back towards the tee (on the left).
Anyone played this links? Thoughts?
It was the first links on the island of Ireland.

Early morning light at Royal Dublin Golf Club, Friday morning.
My first time out with the πΈ in 2025. And at Irelandβs oldest links (1885)
