i actually like to imagine they hated each other at first, ambivalent at best. tripping around the confrontation that needed to happen, but holding hands & getting along for felicia's sake until one day it just doesn't feel so forced. it gets easy, easier, easiest together

vanco rambling time of night but i really like that the inception of vander & silco's friendship is so open to imagination. did vander see this lithe, brutally beautiful man around the mines & just make a split second decision? did they meet at zaun rallies? Was felicia the connective tissue?

you've heard of doomed by the narrative, but have you ever heard of dooming the whole narrative if you're apart for more than a few days

made myself cry on my kitchen floor, shaking my fist at jayvik

to be clear, this is a very personal read into it as a fellow disabled/chronically ill person but hhhh. “making it right” in viktor’s mind was always going to be accepting his death

but viktor’s brightest spot was always jayce. curing himself, beating the clock, mattered more & more each day until he realized there was no answer, but at least he had Jayce. and jayce’s promise.

viktor always knew he wouldn’t live passed a certain age - all of us chronically ill people are well aware, but we keep pushing and pushing hoping the suffering will one day be Worth it. worth a cure, worth it meaning something, worth the momentary bright spots.

i fear we are not taking the “i was supposed to die” quote deeply enough, we are not accounting for the layer of resignation viktor had about his own health knowing it was fruitless, but was at least okay with dying knowing jayce would stop the council from misappropriating their work
