I have a 14 year old and a 10 year old and they don't remotely care about graphics. The older one has always played Roblox and the most intense game she plays is like Doki Doki Literature club. My son plays a little fortnite, minecraft and Roblox. Other than astrobot he has never even asked.

One aspect of kids of any age that is incredibly important is just being silly. As they get older what's silly changes but just remembering "hey let's have some fun" is something that adults don't do enough, even when given the opportunity. Gotta rock them bumper cars.

It feels like every few months something pops up with this person and it is typically others who are very unhappy about something involving them and I just really want to know what this is. Within an incredibly narrow community he seems to be divisive in ways that are honestly impressive.

I really want to have a conversation with that guy that made Duckstation. I have read various accounts of events, as well as his posts and I am just endlessly fascinated.

I want to note on this as well that accessibility, across the board, is good. Only being on Spotify and Apple Podcasts or whatever does not help people with that.

I mean 1) this is all just gibberish. It means nothing. 2) I am beyond this idea of ray tracing being anything. Stop pumping up ray tracing like is 2018.

I really hate podcasts that are actual news. I am begging you, if you have a podcast that is real journalism, please release some form of written component. I don't care if you just post a transcription. I don't really feel like listening to it and I just want to read.

Hello, I am looking for freelance writing gigs quite urgently due to being a victim - now twice - of theft. Any help is appreciated. I have written widely on games, TV shows and film for a variety of outlets - IGN, The Verge, Slate. If you have or know anything, plz DM me ASAP.

I have a suspicion that Trump is giving out those shoes because he bought a huge order of them in bulk and got a deal on it. He has no idea what size shoe anyone wears he just wants to get rid of those shoes and doesn't care how.

The new york times and athletic is one of a handful of sports journalism anything that are left AND paying writers. Instead of getting anything that mattered, you have dipshits like this crying about how their childhood hero has had a point total get surpassed. What a waste of money.

A person is free to have liked Kobe. That your choice. But I have also never pretended that he wasn't a rapist that then had his lawyer engineer a defense to destroy someone's life so he didn't have to deal with repercussions. Just admit that's what you support and let's all move on.

In videogames we're seeing it and I think, so far, it's been relatively successful with Innersloth/Outersloth. Obviously that does not mean everyone just gets money or something and it's still something that requires careful thought. But it's important as these conglomerates take more and more.

This is the time where those handful of really financially successful people on specific platforms can and should be trying to fund other smaller channels, companies and individuals. We're not talking millions here. It's integral to keep having new things that take chances.

Even in my anecdotal experience, there is a subset of guys around that age that really like the cheapest, tackiest things and also do not want to pay a lot for anything. I knew a regular multi-millionaire who drove a 2003 Kia Sorrento for like 20 years.

The real issue they ran into was the death knell to any game: bad management. The desire to recreate the success of Apex Legends and have a shadow drop was a major factor here too because they outright kept a multiplayer game entirely secret before launch. It's impossible to improve with players.

Paul Bremer ran Iraq for Bush. His emails show what really happened
βI am now officially the government of Iraq,β Bremer wrote to his wife in private messages from 2003 unearthed by The Sunday Times. In frank detail, they show the dangers of waging war without the rig...
Incredible story of what Paul Bremerβfor unknown reasonsβdecided to stash in a Yale archive: emails that told a true account of hubris in Iraq, most concerned with DC infighting. Feels like there is a similar record happening right now about Iran on Signal somewhere www.thetimes.com/world/middle...

Those pushing LLM's are profiting from it and nothing more. Yes they are uncreative and yes, they believe that by paying someone else they "did the work". But also, the lack of emotional intelligence or creativity is exactly why they do not understand the only reason we read is for that connection.

That being said: the other reason I went out of my way not to use that person's name or a screenshot of the post (something I do not typically do) is because there WAS abuse towards the team and the members, with that post becoming a lightning rod. The OP wasn't right but also not entirely wrong.

I imagine, like all relationships, with even more time and perspective, understanding why that game was always doomed to fail under that specific structure and leadership team was pretty obvious. That doesn't take away from having pride in your work or the work of those on the team.
