By the way the walthers model is 99% fat cow. It’ll pull 20 cars up a 4% grade no problem
GEVOs are so damn nice when you don’t have miserable railfans in your ear mumbling how terrible they are
Added a big thing to the roster. I like widecab GEs.
Designed to kick rock cars around
Behold. The coach.
Obligatory end of year photo with the GP30. Going on 5 years now, that’s crazy. First photo back in 2020 on the right, damn I got ugly
Even an earlier diesel locomotive is designed to run constantly between regular maintenance intervals. Once they got past that initial period in the yards you basically only ever saw them in the shop for their inspections or after major damage
Said goodnight to this thing for the last time this year
It is antiquated based solely on the fact that we have found a better way to do it. A steam locomotive is nowhere near as capable as a modern locomotive
Maintenance, insanely terrible availability, incredibly expensive and requires tons of specialized parts, trades, and has to stop every 100 miles for a grease and lube. But yeah go off about horsepower I guess
Well it works again now
Radio equipped.

Sometimes things just have to be shoved backwards. Good excuse to use the marker lights and the main was blocked anyways
Did some mild train watching today
