As I predicted this morning on a call with someone, the competition in my industry is just getting worse and worse, with the addition of 3500 very qualified people who no longer work for Voice of America. Received an unsolicited resume from one of the newly fired editors this afternoon.
Living in a world where I see an ad for an audio engineer working at NPR, paying $115K minimum, and I think, "Well, these people will be the first to go when NPR gets gutted." #DangerToNewHires
And here's where we're at folks- I'm spending my afternoon deleting any reference to "supporting and/or including women or minorities in leadership positions" in the video I'm editing for a non-profit that supports several USAID organizations. As a woman, it hurts me to have to do this work.
