I've always blamed Audrey Hepburn.

Apple laptops originally had the apple facing the user.

At one point they realized this meant that, from the point of view of everyone looking at the user, the lit-up apple was upside down. They then flipped it so it displays right-side-up to everyone else… which still confuses us long-time users.

You know you're a long-time Mac laptop user when you automatically initially orient your Macbook to have the apple facing towards you.

In years past, I've judged each outfit on my "send to the guillotine/send to an art gallery" scale. So far, there are far fewer of the former than there have been in previous years.

It's a good thing I'm not following my usual Met Gala drinking rules. "Chug everytime you see a masc-presenting guest dress on-theme" would have me trashed already, and we're only 30 minutes in.

If you ever watch one Met Gala, this appears to be the one to watch.
