all sensors are monochrome by default and then have a color array put on top which introduces some minute drawbacks.. it's really barely perceptible but for people who almost always shoot BW anyways the idea is so appealing
reeeeaally splitting hairs but not having a bayer array for color means the sensor is faster, has a better dmax, and is sharper... the true reason is that the swag is immense
