There is no doubt that this reflects Trump's envision about #Turkey and their complicity in the coup. But the people will tear those plans to shreds.
Such a shame elon musk came claiming to defend free speech, but X is now a useful tool for autocrats. Blocking İmamoğlu’s account in Turkey shows complicity with the enemies of democracy and freedom
labeling them as “western” only helps authoritarian regimes. gives them an easy excuse to reject them as foreign or imposed. and they love that.
this isn’t about east vs west. it’s about authoritarianism vs democracy. power vs people.
watching how these leaders cozy up to each other just proves again that calling things “european values” or “western values” is just wrong.
democracy, human rights, freedom. these are progressive values. and people have been fighting for them everywhere, for a long time.
A fair society is a right not only for humans but also for non-human persons. Whether we respect their right depends on our daily habits.
Let’s go #vegan by including the fight against #speciesism in our struggle against injustice, oppression, and violence.

People outside Turkey often think the government is pro-Palestine, but it’s clearly just posturing for legitimacy. In reality, serious pro-Palestine protesters are often met with police blockades and face detention.
On our way to join the pro-Palestine walk organized by the opposition party CHP. Subway lines to İstiklal Street are cancelled as an attempt to block participation, and the walk has been officially banned. We’ll see how the evening unfolds.
Looks like #Bluesky is now blocking accounts in #Turkey, reportedly following government demands. Many opposition voices had moved here after leaving X. This was the platform’s first real test, and it failed. Disappointing.
