In addition to being misogynistic, such language undermines the dignity of the UN, which is already facing a crisis of legitimacy. This is shocking and reprehensible.
We are deeply concerned by a State’s use of the word “witch” to attack a UN expert in her report to the #UNGA80 3rd Committee. Misogynistic gendered insults have no place in international dialogue and undermine women’s equality and the integrity and independence of UN mandates.

We Stand in solidarity with Witoon Lianchamroon and BioThai on the First Day of Hearing on 22 October. His rightful expression must be protected. (3/3)
based on his presentation of evidence allegedly linking CPF’s Yisan fish farm in Samut Songkhram province to the outbreak of invasive species - Blackchin tilapia in Thailand, and called for the company to take responsibility for the resulting loss to farmers and the ecological impacts. (2/3)
Another egregious example of corporate power & impunity; we hope that the court will act on the side of Witoon, Biothai & Thailand's fisher peoples.
📣🌐 Corporations aren’t just observers, they’re complicit!
Civil society is taking the demand for accountability to the UN stage. @stoptncimpunity.bsky.social and allies are exposing how corporations are complicit in genocide and grave human rights violations.

We all have a First Amendment right to read and receive information, in and out of prison. Censorship has no place in a democracy.
