Screenshot of The Climate Initiative's website. The Climate Action Leadership Program (CALP) is a four-session program that is focused on engaging youth participants in direct climate action! Each session builds on the previous one. CALP is designed in a way that does not push a specific type of action onto participants but walks them through the process of self-determining what climate action is local and accessible to them. Screenshot of The Climate Initiative's website. Text reads as follows: The end goal is for participants to either: 1. Create their own climate action projects to carry out in their communities 2. Have participants research and find existing projects that need more support. There is a short accompanying worksheet between each session to prepare the participant for the upcoming session. Ultimately, the goal is to expose participants to a variety of pathways into the climate space, and enlighten them to the many onramps they can take to engage in climate action! The Climate Action Leadership Program, in partnership with Rotary International and the Global Climate Pledge, is dedicated to the vibrant memory of John Mathers, who worked tirelessly to bring climate change awareness and action to Rotary International and youth around the globe (read more in Johnβs tribute here). Aside from the tool kits, we have also built out a Climate Action Leadership Program, a 4 part program that focuses on engaging motivated young people into climate action that is accessible to them. We want to popularize the idea- there is NO ONE WAY to get involved in climate action!
