Remember, there's no way to please perma-rage folks. They turn every conversation in an us-vs-them thing because they feed on permanent and continuous outrage.
It's unhealthy.

What Iβd say to me back then - River Islandβs Meriel Neighbour tells Madeline Bennett why job-hopping pays off, sharing how she worked her way to the top in the hospitality sector before a pivot to tech: bit.ly/3NtwSmx
Reading this now and itβs a jaw dropper.
The enterprise tech businesses rely on is essentially like asking a grandpa to compete alongside elite teenage athletes
Decrepit doesnβt begin to describe tech infrastructure.
And the knock-on effects are chilling.
First draft of the research paper with @maureenb2b.bsky.social is done. Can't wait to see it in the wild!!
The House of Lords Digital & Communications Committee just published their report on AI, copyright & the creative industries, and their conclusions could not be clearer.

I'm on holiday and catching up on things: a week after @charity.wtf made it public, I'll (re-)inform y'all that I'm amongst the contributors to Observability Engineering, 2nd Edition, along with the likes of @jeremymorrell.dev and @phillipcarter.dev. I will of course be all over User-Focused O11y!
This feels like a momentary high. Would prefer to see anthropic offering something more sustainable for maintainers. six months on the pipe, and then what?
Daughter went to Boots with her first private prescription for gender affirming healthcare after seeing their LGBTQ+ statements on their website. What was supposed to be a positive milestone moment turned into a grilling about her blood levels and if the prescription was "legit".
This article diginomica.com/camaras-open... from @alyx.diginomica.com mentions the GSMA Open Gateway which we ( www.azydeco.com ) built for @GSMA you can explore it here open-gateway.gsma.com/map
( both GSMA and Diginomica are clients )
They never do, do they. CAO has been talked about widely but is still aspirational. Or conceptual branding. Then again, it would need to link to data as a fundamental - something that many organisations still haven't managed to sort out.
the more i read the AEG coo fall out the more amazed I am at the lack of self awareness that the COO wrote "People then apply risk capital against those ideas to see if thereβs a product market fit." and never once suggesed maybe a LLM could replace his job and his roles and obligations.
help me out here Bskeebs !! I am looking for a Marvin the Martian cartoon where he is facing off against wither Bugs or Daffy but the scenes cut back and forth with ever increasing guns pointed at each other
All set for Monkigras! Gis a shout if you need a volunteer for anything - happy to help with timing reminders etc!!
if you're in data infrastructure you should read this by my excellent colleague @rstephens.me redmonk.com/rstephens/20...
No butter required! Tal Saraf's analogy was so good I had to include it.
Typed this article like the Kermit gif. The longer I thought about it, and then looked at all the promises that adding this tool to systems and processes claims to bring. And it's not "another member of the team". @erioldoesdesign.bsky.social's presentation is highly relevant (link to YT in article)
The pattern keeps repeating - deploy first, secure later, apologise eventually. Guardrails bolted on after the fact aren't guardrails, they're damage control. Security has to be architectural, not aspirational.
Totally, going to have to keep banging the drum about this. Security needs to be on the agenda right at the start of the conversation as a priority. How many more of these incidents need to happen? Not to mention documentation.
A recent security incident involving OpenClaw, revealed more than 21,000 exposed deployments. @alyx.diginomica.com argues why enterprise adoption of AI agents needs to pay more than just lip service to "guardrails": bit.ly/3OcLkzz
When excellent work and thought continues on; as @alyx.diginomica.com quotes @erioldoesdesign.bsky.social in an article that I feel many, MANY , of my pronoun preferring people will 'preciate.

Person with blonde hair dressed in black holding a tiny black and tan chihuahua puppy.
Lots to write about from this morning at @dynatrace.com #Perform2026. But when Bob Wambach mentioned that there were puppies onsite, I went with my best puppy observability focus. This is Daisy, who is looking for a furever home. She is very kissy and snuggly. 15/10 would snuggle again.
After one conversation with @awittyremark.bsky.social about the Ouroboros and data being hoovered up by AI, and another with @databricksinc.bsky.social about instruction retrieval, I did some mulling. The circle of the snake will only get smaller with misunderstandings about progress. bit.ly/49BVcel
Everyone is chasing AI agents. But UiPathβs CMO Michael Atalla says hybrid automation is the real end state. @alyx.diginomica.com caught up with him for diginomica, to hear why: bit.ly/4qvNmZK

They also employ methods to

Reproducible experiments and testimony presented at a recent webinar suggest LinkedInβs algorithms systematically reduce the visibility of anyone whose profile doesn't match the patterns the algorithm has learned to reward. I wrote about accountability in AI-driven platforms - bit.ly/3NlyGxG
I will be on standby to say happy birthday!
Yaaaay!
#Monkigras is not a conference - it's a communal hallucination where for two days we believe that talks can be creative, conversations can be individual and hustle-free, event food can be great, and corporations can help with inclusion.
You should come!
