The Bay du Nord oil and gas platform is situated *outside* Canada’s territorial waters.

So instead of shutting it down, the federal government will be covering the fines… which could be up to $1 billion.

I keep thinking of the difference between the mainstream experience from the Latino one. We live life in community, not in isolation, even the spaces we build. Our culture creates a third space where daily life happens: the street, the stoop, the bodega, the plaza, the front of the house that spills into the neighborhood. That way of living naturally generates a different kind of architecture, informal, social, layered, human-scaled. Bad Bunny tapped into that on the halftime stage. It wasn’t just a set, it was a familiar spatial language. For a lot of Latinos, that space isn’t abstract or symbolic, it’s our home.
