This puts me at 10 people released. I filed my 1st habeas petition 29 days ago. I am an incredibly small-time, nobody lawyer who knew nothing about immigration law the day I submitted that case. I barely know any more today. I had never sued the federal government and now I've beaten them 10 times.

My deluxe copy of Outer Wilds: Design Works arrived from @lostincult.co.uk over the weekend and, damn, it's lovely—which seems only fitting, as Outer Wilds is one of the most creative and beautiful games I've ever played.

I had planned to paint the cards in gouache and I only got 4 cards in before changing my mind: it was too slow, I wasn't happy with my skills, and the scanner wasn't producing a consistent color match—which was important for the myriorama to work!

Now that the deck is out and truly real, I wanted to take the opportunity to share some of the inspiration behind the artwork.

At a vista point for Drake's Estero, I watched a gorgeous Great Egret take off from the water and I knew it had to be the highlight of the first card I painted.

A couple of weeks ago, WMF heard about a number of mountain lion sightings in West Marin. Then it went quiet. Two nights ago Jonathan Montoya (@lonlazarus) captured this footage on his wildlife cam of a mountain lion walking through his yard in Inverness. Amazing.

This brings me joy.
