This always seems to me a big danger for EU unity - once the US starts easing it's sanctions on Russia, the pro-Putin politicians will start arguing it would be an economic necessity for the EU to follow suit

"Hegseth has approved a request from Centcom for an element of an amphibious ready group and attached Marine expeditionary unit, typically consisting of several warships and 5,000 Marines..." www.wsj.com/livecoverage...
Let's be clear: you would not be pulling THAADs from South Korea and moving a Marine Expeditionary Unit from Japan to the Gulf two weeks after launching a war on Iran if you had properly anticipated the fallout it would be likely to cause.
Let me see if I get this right.
Trump starts a war with no clear strategic aims
Trump fails to anticipate Iran choking off the Persian Gulf
Trump bombs such that the Iranian people are keeping their head down.

Many Countries, especially those who are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe. We have already destroyed 100% of Iran’s Military capability, but it’s easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close range missile somewhere along, or in, this Waterway, no matter how badly defeated they are. Hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area so that the Hormuz Strait will no longer be a threat by a Nation that has been totally decapitated. In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian Boats and Ships out of the water. One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Days after declaring total victory and boasting that no other military could match the US, Trump is now begging other countries — including China — to send warships to stop his Iran war from spiraling into catastrophe.
A galactic humiliation.
Yes, Trump said that.

There has been very tight cooperation between Russia and Iran at great cost to the people of Ukraine and a great threat to peace and security in Europe.
Looks like Trump needs to destroy 150% of Iran’s military capacity.
Can’t we just arrange for everyone to declare victory and leave them to write their own history books?

After fooling the Trump administration into lifting sanctions on fossil fuels by involving them in the 'peace negotiations'-hoax, which required them to temporarily stop sending ballistic missiles into Kyiv's apartment buildings, the Russians have now resumed their barbaric attacks.
