A comparison of two circular logos, the first featuring Japanese text and wheat. The second is more intimidating, the visage of an owl coming through in a single wheat head.

Whilst touching up my world (as well as fixing a few bugs), I decided to go in and remake this 7 year old logo I've had for the Apoco Brewery.

It was giving the vibe of "Innocent Food Processor", and not at all representative of the death cult that I wanted, so I gave it an evil wheat-owl vibe!

The subtext here is VRChat has been killing its potential breakout hits like FISH for the past 3 years because world discovery overwhelmingly prefers worlds with no explorability, emergent spaces, movement, or content. FISH is what VRChat could have had, but hasnt until now.

yeah that basically describes my VRChat friend group

and not considering the consequences before implementing definitely as generated the fish developer a lot more dislike then they would have had doing it the other way around like Japanese VR social media is bickering a lot about the removal the flight Collider on if it a good idea or not

yeah like there now having to implement a new Fast traveling system because everyone told them leaving it being only boats was unacceptable

and like the udon being so slow the only viable game styles is increment number games

yeah even if it does expose a bunch of other issues with vrchat like the VRC stations and unclear communication with vrchat silently making changes to fish with the flight collider removal

honestly the thing that annoys me with the flight removal is it being only in fish instead of a general feature so it looks like vrchat is playing favoritism

yeah I'm also annoyed about the removal of the flight system as I just want to hang out with friends not fish

personally some of my dislike of fish is I find the art style very uneven as it flip flops on whether it uses texture filtering and the sizing of the pixel textures is very inconsistent and personally I find having the villagers look pretty much identical to Animal Crossing to be irritating
