I’ve read that white, as well as luminous splatter prints, produce more surface noise (for reasons I don’t understand). Certainly, the few white LPs I have do sound a bit lacking…but it could be they’re just bad pressings anyway

About 15 years ago I read one of the big Hollywood studios (possibly Sony/Columbia) had accidentally destroyed their prints of certain Coen Brothers films before scanning them for future 4K restoration, etc. Perhaps it was Hudsucker P & The Man Who Wasn’t There

I haven’t seen The Hudsucker Proxy since ye olde DVD dayes…could never find it on Blu-ray, and it’s conspicuously absent from iTunes, streaming services or any TV station. Shame because it’s become a forgotten gem
