Have not posted for fear of spoilers but as you can imagine I have thoughts

To change the subject a little, I am now 100% caught up on seaosn 4

But then the deal with F at the engagement party was so over the top!

I think my favorite Damian moment was when he did kinda admit that he was feeling shame about having put his job in jeopardy to go on the show and how he wanted to provide for her. It didn’t meet my bar for being honest about what happened…

Though I get the sense maybe she kinda liked that he was condescending, which 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️. Also not sure what to make of the fact that her mom likes Damian so much

Whereas Damian seems to consistently try to make it seem like things that totally happened didn’t happen, and seems pretty condescending to me in general

She does get pretty loud, including in public, but I think nothing she said seemed super below the belt to me? And it seemed pretty owned overall, both her complaints on the object level and that she knows how she is in conflicts

Yeah they seem like they have a pretty terrible relationship, which I think is a cold take. I’m personally considerably more sympathetic to her side of it than his

I’m happy to admit it’s all more complicated and connect on a more human level etc.

So with that out of the way

I feel like I need a disclaimer that I know they are real people with feelings and all that, but otoh they did kinda sign up for this! If by any weird twist of fate any reality TV people ever read what I write…

If they were explicitly objecting to the interruption of it I wouldn’t see much point, but for some kids at least it isn’t always that

My kids have at young ages seemed genuinely confused about stuff like this. Like either they find the video hilarious or they’re like no I don’t want to watch that (fair lol) in a way that makes me think it can close a gap

Anyway it’s 10pm and I’m packing for the trip that we are going on tomorrow after having done a looot of lying around in bed today. And by packing I mean posting. But fr it’s in between packing

According to me it’s very sus to systematically privilege the more ego subtopic side of an intertemporal conflict

IMO it’s basically equally important and good to take the video of the kid not wanting to do it in the first place and show that to the kid who’s then enjoying it

It’s like how people (sometimes I’m people) will be like “take a video of the kid doing the thing they never wanted to start but enjoy once they’ve started so they get it more, and sure but…
