I see you mention AMD, and I was naive enough to think that dual amdgpu laptop would be a great experience on Linux. It's ASUS's fault, though.
It really depends on the hardware. PC without exoticsβpretty solid. Steam Deck amazing even, while being backed by a billionaire company. Too bad I still couldn't get CUPS to recognize a crappy Canon printer, though the scanner works perfectly.
As for the interface, it's the least problematic for me on Linux. GNOME has come a long way and Plasma is also looking good. Hyprland is more minimalist and smoother than either of them.

I still prefer the old naming scheme due to it matching the CPUs. Say, I can have a R5 5600X and a RX 5600 XT rig (or the more recent equivalent).

It's too slow, and I still have to make scripts for a full-fledged Arch Linux install from archiso to a complete environment. However, I got some good experience for the industry.
