Danielle Smith’s referendum questions aren’t about decision making; they’re about sowing discontent and conflict within her own province and (she hopes) in the country. If you want a referendum on separation, go ahead (she knows it will fail). But these questions? A chicken shit, divisive move.

I don't like to talk about stories before they are fully reported, but I am writing on ICE in a Minnesota town that isn't Minneapolis. However bad you think it is, it is worse. It is a campaign of pure terror whose only strategic goal is more terror. There is no strategy other than to break people.

So rare to find a story this short that does so much.
I've noticed that most acceptances and rejections from journals seem to come in on Sundays. That tells me the people doing the hard work there have other jobs and these little magazines are labors of love. They're giving up their weekends to work on poetry for others. Something to appreciate.
