Many Countries, especially those who are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe. We have already destroyed 100% of Iran’s Military capability, but it’s easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close range missile somewhere along, or in, this Waterway, no matter how badly defeated they are. Hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area so that the Hormuz Strait will no longer be a threat by a Nation that has been totally decapitated. In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian Boats and Ships out of the water. One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE! President DONALD J. TRUMP
in a single sentence Trump claims Iran's military is "destroyed 100%" but also admits "it's easy for them to send a drone or two" 🙃

If Joe Biden's son-in-law was flying around the Middle East as an unofficial Secretary of State while also working on business deals for his company with the same people he was meeting with on behalf of the US government, I'm pretty sure it would be a bigger story 🤔

Apropos of SecDef's remarks this morning:
Denial of quarter—even the declaration of no quarter—is a war crime.
And recognized as such by the US Government.

John was the first person to suggest I write a book about Operation Anaconda, while we were both reporting from Bagram in March/April 2002. I didn't know him well, but he was an extraordinarily colorful character. RIP.

Hegseth: "We will keep pushing, keep advancing. No quarter, no mercy for our enemies."
No quarter is the refusal to take prisoners and instead just execute everyone. It's been considered a war crime for over a century.

This is no different from Putin saying MH17 was shot down by Ukraine or Assad saying rebels gassed themselves.

In the wake of the Cold War, some Soviet bloc spies decided their fake American lives weren’t so bad.

It was weird simply as a journalist to be told by colleagues that I'm writing about a UFO type conspiracy that doesn't exist. For people this actually happened to, it was soul crushing.

Dozens killed as Israeli special forces raid Lebanese village in search of 40-year-old remains
Overnight, one Israeli operation saw at least 41 people killed and 40 injured, according to the Lebanese health ministry.
Pretty serious allegation here. "Witnesses told the BBC that the Israeli soldiers had arrived disguised in Lebanese military fatigues and used ambulances with signs of Hezbollah's Islamic Health Organization."

NEW, from me: A secret chapter of Cold War history, told here for the first time. A deep cover Soviet Bloc spy living in America as the Berlin Wall fell. The shocking moves by a European intel chief. And the incredible CI chess games by FBI and CIA counterspies.

I’ve spent years, decades, obsessing over the Bush Administration’s Iraq WMD lies, writing about them, debunking them.
I can think of no lie about Iraq WMDs told by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld et al that comes even close to the enormity and absurdity of this lie from Donald Trump.

Here’s a tidbit I couldn’t fit into the story: As the Berlin Wall was falling, FBI counterintelligence began to circulate a highly-classified bulletin about the intel activities of all the Warsaw Pact spy services, tracking their moves toward the West. The name of that bulletin?

Years ago my team at CNA did a review of the US use of proxies.
A pertinent finding: “Policymakers & the US military should restrict the use of proxies to irregular warfare activities against states or other nonstate armed groups & avoid any temptations to use them as surrogate conventional armies”

Sounds like Israeli SOF may be operating inside Iraq (presumably setting up FARPs and the like for aircraft that en route to/from Iran or ground launched munitions)—and some of them may have gotten into a shootout with Iraqi forces
