One consequence of vibe coding that I didn’t anticipate is the increasingly wide spread belief that SaaS apps are doomed because it’s a better experience to vibe code up a custom solution to a problem than pay a monthly fee for a fixed app.

LLMs are content slot machines. Occasionally brilliant, sometimes good and often garbage.
I was literally saying this same thing yesterday. The second part is where people really miss the value and miss out on the overall better products and artifacts we could be producing. It’s a start. It’s not the final step.
This resonates strongly. Also this changes depending on the task you’re using the LLMs for. When it’s something about my work that I didn’t enjoy, I love the help, otherwise, I lament the loss and quietly rejoice when it fails.
