A march in downtown Los Angeles against immigrant detentions: a group of protesters began getting close to a loading dock for MDC and the nearby hospital. Some items thrown. DHS firing back with volleys of pepper balls and other “less lethal munitions”

A terrified teacher is seen holding a drawing made by one of her students. A chilling piece of art depicting the family of the little girl. The drawing shows 3 characters: "My Mom", "Me"... And "My Other Mom". The Other Mom being a pale legless humanoid with long black hair and dark eyes. The worried professor, witnessing the unsettling piece of art, calls the girl's mother in order to meet her and prevent something terrible from happening. She says on the phone: Miss Rae? This is Zoe's teacher... She's been drawing some strange things... Can we talk tomorrow? I fear your family might be in danger." The next day comes and the meeting happens... But to the surprise of the terrified teacher, Rae, the girl's mother, is actually married to a cute ghost lady and Zoe is actually a human/ghost hybrid. The ghost woman is extremely proud of her daughter's drawing and shows it to her wife, saying: "Look honey! Such a pretty drawing! I love how you drew your Mamas, sweetie!". The human wife then asks the teacher what was the reason for the meeting: "So, what's the issue, Miss Venkman?", to the response of a very confused but relieved teacher: "O-oh... Nevermind."

I recently posed a question to my cis followers on Bsky about whether they could defend the idea that trans women are in fact women. The overwhelming response was, while well-meaning, sorely disappointing and along the lines of "of course trans women are women, 'woman' is ultimately a meaningless category, you can be whatever you like". It was such a profoundly sobering experience because I realized that most people have framed their conception of trans rights around owning bigots and dunking on them in arguments instead of an affirmative understanding of trans marginalization, a comprehension of the struggles we face in a cissexist, patriarchal society, or even a basic familiarity with how we are seen and regarded and treated institutionally. 'Woman' is not a meaningless category in a patriarchy. It is a positionality, one that trans women undoubtedly occupy, and most cis people--even allies, even the ones who believe they want to do right by us--do not fundamentally accept the premise that we actually inhabit this position and navigate society as women. It's an epistemic chasm I don't quite know how to cross, which is unfortunate as I've inadvertently dedicated my life to doing so. Ascertaining just how wide that gap in understanding is was alarming, if necessary. To cis readers, all I can say is that if you only think trans women can be women in a world where the word 'woman' holds no meaning, you're more aligned with the Gender-Conservative position on us than you think. You might want to unpack that.
Meditating on that thread from a while back.

ABA therapy is a bad thing and autistic folks on here are saying it
Honestly, if they won't pay for ABA, good. It's dog training for autistics and has been shown to cause PTSD. We're people and deserve to be treated like people.
The reason why I prefer "transemasculation" as terminology and theory is because it's rooted in a solid materialist transfeminist analysis and complements and intersects with other established analyses of gendered oppressions.
The same cannot be said for "transandrophobia" or "transmisandry."
