I was there! Only time I’ve ever seen Carlisle down at the Vic. That season and 74/75 are the only times we’ve been in the same division
My humble submission to the new Bank of England with concepts for the new bank notes to please both sides.
The Bank of England are putting animals on bank notes, are you ready for this @themerl.bsky.social
If there was only some way to harness Mandelson's chutzpah to power the grid we could avoid an energy crisis.
Harold Wilson was born on this day 1916 in Huddersfield. Formed Labour governments after four general elections, more than any other leader. (Portrait by Ruskin Spear, National Portrait Gallery).
I remember a Bradford fan once mocking the Hull accent in City Gent fanzine years ago, saying that you don’t ask for a pint of mild in Hull, it’s a parnnt of marrllldd

Another Music In A Different Kitchen (United Artists, UAG 30159) by Buzzcocks was released on March 10, 1978.
A first press of the punk-pop classic will cost you £25-£30. If you want the promotional carrier bag as well you’ll need to dig deeper (£75ish)
The slow disappearance of Elvis Presley from pop culture is actually really interesting. Put bluntly, his contemporary fans are increasingly no longer with us and his last big mass market moment (The "Little Less Conversation" remix from the Nike World Cup ad) is now 24 years ago...

Remembering 33 fans who were crushed to death and 400 injured at Bolton Wanderers’ Burnden Park stadium when a barrier and a wall collapsed during an FA Cup game against Stoke City on this day 1946. Worst British football stadium disaster until Ibrox in 1971.
A good day to give thanks for fire and rescue personnel in Glasgow, and around the world

I feel for the BBC archive staff in this; a dispiriting story of senior management getting twitchy about people even knowing that archive material is there, presumably being told that one *can* expose the metadata without having to open the files but deciding it's simpler just to hide it all.
Heartbreaking scenes of an iconic building in Glasgow engulfed in flames. A horrible hit for local businesses, the people of Glasgow, and for our city's history.

Speedway was at Sun Street stadium (back of what became Chatfields Ford) until 1963 when the track got sold. Funnily enough, Vale made noises about moving in there back in the 1920s until the Stoke chairman told them to back off (encroaching on our turf and all that)
