I asked my husband about moving to Canada a few years ago and it was a firm no because of parents..,
"But they said it was just a rash."
Always look at who the "they" is. If they have no qualifications, don't believe them.
There are so many more frustrations practicing medicine now compared to when I started in 1999. When it's time to begin a new MOC cycle I know I will contemplate just not. NBPAS is only a solution if it's accepted where I work. Is it worth trying to get that to happen?

Yep. In Kansas one of the Medicaid programs will no longer cover any of the services at our children's hospital or any of the pediatric clinics affiliated with them (I think all area groups are now affiliated).
But the lists were long and what could I do? I had to work. I couldn't bring him with me.
I was so excited to get the call that a spot opened! He was at that center until he aged out of the after school program.
I put my daughter on the wait list when we started trying to conceive.
She had infants during the day, but school kids came after school. I'm not sure if she complied with the max number of children in a home daycare.
One day, while putting my son in the carseat (I never left it with her) he smiled and I found a Lego in his mouth.
I was on wait lists elsewhere...
In our home daycare my infant sometimes smelled like cigarettes. I had asked about smoking, and the provider didn't smoke, but her boyfriend did. She didn't lie during the interview, but didn't admit the full truth. She asked for the car seat to be left. She used it to put babies in front of the tv.
This brings back my nightmare of moving to KS with an infant after residency. I couldn't find a spot in any daycare center, so found a home daycare that was in my neighborhood and seemed like a great place - until little clues popped up that there were problems. It was 9 months until a spot opened.

I am left pondering a question I wasn't anticipating before reading this... 79% of US $1 bills sampled had traces of cocaine.
I knew money was full of germs - one of many reasons I prefer plastic. But cocaine, @pauloffit.bsky.social? How'd you find that?

Wow. I am thankful the Lancet is taking a stand.

Sounds like you need to find a prescriber who is ADHD informed.
Pediatricians everywhere: π₯³π
My concern is theyβre warning all prescribers. What if people stop doing recommended treatments because they heed the warning? Or if weβre desensitized and stop listening, missing an important contraindication??
So many have had Covid more times than they can count. What is this doing to our bodies???
I just got ANOTHER warning from a pharmacy warning me that a patient has a diagnosis of anxiety and the stimulant may worsen anxiety. Yes, I know this. But I also know that NOT treating ADHD leads to anxiety. I worry these warnings may stop prescribers from appropriate management. Anyone else?
Why do they need immunity if itβs not bad to catch? I mean, why drive out of your way to get infected? It makes no sense. Vaccinating to prevent infection makes sense but if you donβt think the vaccine is safe, why go out of your way to get sick? Make it make sense.
I am disgusted by the elected leaders who are doing things like this to please the man is evil and who has shown that he will turn on anyone, even his followers. Why canβt anyone stand up against this? Thank you Rep Green!
Iβve had insurance deny coverage for early MMR within the past 2 years. Stupid!
Another fact that needs to be discussed broadly but wonβt.
I donβt have high hopes that the review will be done by qualified people in a scientific manner. Itβs all for show.
This is actually a fun read. It would be better as a fiction book, but it's lovely to know there's dysfunction among the agents.

I actually just listened to this episode of the Bendy Bodies podcast yesterday. If you don't already follow hypermobilitymd on Substack, go find her.

Thatβs essentially why my kids did a booster of the 9 valent version. There were no recommendations, so we decided one was enough. π
It is such a shame...

My kids both started with 3 doses of HPV4, then got a dose of HPV9, not quite 6 doses though. How'd that come to be?
I didn't actually notice that, but there is evidence that one dose is sufficient, so I suspect that might have eventually been the call from a real ACIP group...
Iβm using the AAP schedule, but am pleasantly surprised to see HPV is still routinely recommended.
Other parts are not great, such as the shared decision making and the high risk only sectionsβ¦
