I will say that I did notice a creep of more pre-game anthems in high school and younger after 9/11. Football games always had it but it felt very weird that we had them in baseball all the time at non-varsity levels after not having them.

Every sport in the US has been a military advertisement since no one had a good plan for the overloaded injection of jingoism into sports post-9/11. Baseball is the worse offender with God Bless America still being a think in the seventh inning stretch and multiple troop promotions on schedules.
