Mom used to make us 4 kids listen to Bernstein's Young People's Concerts every weekend. We were listening to the strings warming up and my sister, 8, whispered: why does it sound so bad? "They're warming up." After 10 or so minutes of the concert she asked, "when are they going to stop warming up?"

One of my favorite authors, British writer Mary Stewart wrote several mysteries about Greece. One was This Rough Magic and is set in Corfu. It's from the 1970s but totally holds up today. That's when I fell in love with Corfu. Highly recommend it! Thanks for this post!

I've been having a bit of darkness in my caregiving of my husband and needed to have some uplifting time. I just watched Torville and Dean skate to Ravel's Boléro when they performed it at the 1984 Sarajevo Olympics. Just absolutely incandescent perfection. Gave me the lightness I needed.
