Today would have been Alex Pretti’s 38th birthday.
He was executed by ICE over a month ago. Shot ten times in the back after trying to assist a woman who had been pepper sprayed and shoved.
He was a helper and they killed him for it.

After being held in two of them as a boy, I fought for decades urging America to never again build concentration camps and put human beings in them. It breaks my heart to watch this happen twice now in my own lifetime.
There is no reason you can’t honor Holocaust Remembrance Day while also celebrating large boulder the size of a small boulder day…life is full of simultaneous joy and mourning.
Especially when you know that the German nazis took notes on the US to develop their approach.

To be blunt: if you are doing anything at all right now to reduce your risk of infection from SARS-CoV-2, you're being smart. As a result of the current high prevalence of flu, masking is back in the media. Ignore anything negative said about it. Political nonsense is irrelevant.

Be mindful of and gentle with the ways you use Newtown and Sandy Hook today and tomorrow. Those moms, dads, brothers, cousins, and loved ones are here, dealing a hurt most of us can never understand, over and over again.
