Indivisible Reminder: Democrats have offered to fund all of DHS with the exception of ICE and CBP but the GOP won't allow a vote.

Indivisible Reminder: Democrats have offered to fund all of DHS with the exception of ICE and CBP but the GOP won't allow a vote.

Republicans will not allow a vote because they are using the DHS funding as a "look at those horrible Democrats" point. They have no interest in keeping us safer.

Courtiers wearing shoes that don't fit because Trump insisted he knew their sizes -- I don't think even Stalin could have come up with it.

Sheldon Whitehouse can be insufferable, but we should all stop short of saying he "delegitimized himself." His speech on the link between Trump, Epstein and Russia is vital to the national interest. He is an ally, however frustrating he may be at times.

This is all part of his plan to fuck with the 2026 midterms and exact revenge on those who stopped him from trying to overthrow the 2020 election. When people ask me why Trump is America’s enemy, I always start here. He’s at war against OUR elections. He’s our enemy.πŸ‘‡

Why Isn’t Trump (Even) Less Popular? There are two reasons.

Trump's got about 39% support right now. How is that possible?

two things:
1. fascism has a constituency
2. partisanship is powerful

I talk about both at some length here. www.everythingishorrible.net/p/why-isnt-t...

Satisfying to see @davidjbier.bsky.social absolutely dogwalk Sen. Kennedy here.

Kennedy is so far gone he doesn’t even seem to realize the β€œBlue-ski” posts he’s reading are the consensus view of most Americans and not some Marxist smoking gun or something.

A masterclass by @davidjbier.bsky.social on how to maintain your composure and principles in the face of people unable to do either.

We don't need to yell or mock because the facts, the law, and common decency are on our side, as David made apparent before someone unfit to hold the seat he's in.

The Republican Party believes that masked federal thugs lawlessly roaming our streets, racially profiling brown & black people, and terrorizing immigrants & citizens is just a β€œlittle hiccup.” I thought you should know.

5/ And on the Strait of Hormuz, they had NO PLAN. I can't go into more detail about how Iran gums up the Strait, but suffice it say, right now, they don't know how to get it safely back open.

Which is unforgiveable, because this part of the disaster was 100% foreseeable.

4/ Ok, so what ARE the goals? It seems, primarily, destroying lots of missiles and boats and drone factories.

But the question that stumped them: what happens when you stop bombing and they restart production?

They hinted at more bombing. Which is, of course, endless war.

3/ Second, they confirmed "regime change" is also NOT on the list. So, they are going to spend hundreds of billions of your taxpayer dollars, get a whole bunch of Americans killed, and a hardline regime - probably a MORE anti-American hardline regime - will still be in charge.
