βThat's 40 *cents*. Cents are a form of currency one hundred times smaller than the reΓ‘l. I'm not even going to take this. Come back when you have 130 reΓ‘l.β
Isn't it... evil? The order of magnitude between what is asked of a person -- and what they have?
Wait, have you been a doctor this whole time?
Shit, their factory is/was going up in Holyoke? That's my back yard, and a place that could really benefit from that kind of investment. And of course I didn't even need to check the article to see what the problem is.
JUST IN: Four demonstrators who still face conspiracy charges tied to ICE protests in Broadview seek records relating to "any improper influence exerted upon the U.S. Attorney's office."

Among the many things I've learned from Twain: Maybe the most dependable heuristic for judging a person is who counts them as an enemy.
Dwayne Eutsey found, among the many revelations in the Epstein Files, that this epic shithead hated Mark Twain.
Greenblatt himself shares some responsibility precisely because he's placed the interests of "the Jewish state" above the safety of the American Jewish diaspora. Even calling it "THE Jewish state" is a tell; it's certainly not my state.

Good timing, we had fuckin June weather around here the last couple days. It was harrowing.
I will be streaming as part of this for a half-hour tonight at 10:30pm Eastern Time. Get ready to see me get pummeled by Tyrants as I show off wacky Resident Evil Randomizer nonsense to help out antlervel.vet.
Watching a playthrough of SONS OF THE FOREST, and apparently this game has the highest ever ratio of "does not need an entire album of original pop music for the in-game radio" to "holy shit this slaps actually".
Also college administrators.
Like not only is it a lot of effort just to have music play on radios you don't actually spend very much time around, but the presence of pop music is actually pretty distracting when it's actually on screen. But also, like, these are some bangers?

I would absolutely not advise anyone to come here until we get our shit sorted. Some folks might be LESS likely to be targeted, but it's not like we haven't seen cases of Germans & Brits getting grabbed and tossed detention facilities for months. International events should not be happening here.
The Twitter thing, mostly. I did also check the setting that drops tidbits from your other feeds into your main timeline every so often, does add some flavor, but can get repetitive (I don't think it's calibrated very well).
So when do the impeachments start?
I do, but I also barely leave the house, so it's not really a big ask. My partner, on the other hand, has an actual grown-up job and masks all day, in a genuinely heroic fashion (although no one else there does).
[Yes, all this would be tricky and people would try to weasel through it in bad faith, which is why a) it would have to be built with a lot of care, and b) our legal systems need to be overhauled across the board to be more resilient to obvious bad faith.]
(I also think that if you license, say, an existing song to be used in a larger work you are otherwise not participating in, you should not be able to restrict the use of that work--reprinting, streaming, whatever. Creative hostage-taking should not be a thing.)
Example: I think if a publisher makes a work unavailable for x years, the creator(s) should have a non-negotiable right to have ownership revert to them, to re-license/make public/whatever, as they see fit. I think there should be a point before lapse where other creators can make derivative work.
I think we'd be a lot better off if we developed a system capable of differentiating between different types of rights-holders (e.g. creator vs publisher) and/or different types of use (derivative works vs direct reprint, etc.). A blanket "x years and it's gone" isn't, imo, a good recipe.
But in either case--disinfo or small contingent of loud randos--it would probably be good for folks to remember that secular voters are one of the most consistently Democrat-voting demographics in the country, despite being basically invisible to American politicians.
Yeah, I mean you can certainly find people voicing any imaginable bad opinion on the internet, but given the volume of inauthentic, intentionally disruptive behavior we've seen from fascists over the past decade+, I have to take some of these convenient bad opinion trends with a grain of salt.
(and I gotta say, I'm not particularly interested in another round of "oooh those dang leftists", and even less so for "ooh those dang atheists".)
Cause I'm pretty fuckin skeptical of candidates who make a big show of their religiosity, but Talarico seems legit, & certainly not like a wannabe theocrat, & I haven't seen anyone I recognize say otherwise. Mostly I just see people complaining about comments I only see if I go digging for them.
So like is there an ACTUAL contingent of "leftists" who are opposed to James Talarico, or is it just like the usual mix of a handful of obscure random and fascist sock puppet provocateurs?
