The setting, if not always tone, is Urban Fantasy or Folk Horror. So while some paranormal stuff is presented as objective fact in-universe when OCs follow an IRL religion or practice magick it's like iRL, even the Lovecraftian religion of the Hags is a matter of faith. #Worldbuilding #<3OCWorld

Chewie and his mate wear hoodies in part to blend in with humans and sometimes for warmth. Maybe they're so anthropomorphic that they have different ones for different weather.
The bigfoots wear clothing because in many ways they're basically human.

My week was good, a short fiction zine featuring my artwork on the cover got passed around at a Spafford show in Brooklyn.
My OC Melissa made it to a safe harbor and Kallan and Hayden are having lunch. With that story complete another OC I've been working on is a step closer to the page #<3OC #OCSky
I don't remember if I've finished a comic on here before but there's a period after where I'll be doing a lot of stuff to get this printed including choosing a name and painting cover art. I have an idea for my next one but I need to think on it some more before I start.
Page sixty-eight No one in particular says " They're sort of like bigfoots aren't they, they used to be not quite real. There was this story of them being born different in their little Bethlehem, like Liverpool- Bloop. -and then they go to the big city New York or L.A. or London or Nashville or Jerusalem and become semi-fictional...not completely of the real world." The four handmade Shrouds of Turin from before are visible there are also panels with the reliquary of the holy prepuce, Buddha's tooth, Mohammed's tooth, Leda's egg, bigfoot and Chewie the Chupacabra. The relic maker asks Kallan "Do you suppose Bigfoot would be shocked to see the Chupacabra?

Kallan: They can go their separate ways if it's poorer, better to know for sure Kallan turns to look at the Relic-maker and sees himself in a mirror with the relic-maker's clothes and haircut, tucked into the frame of the mirror is a little scrap of paper with a medieval drawing of a man reading a letter and bells ringing. Meanwhile Melissa knocks on the door of a small house with an open picket fence from inside her silhouette isvisible through the drawn curtain of thr doors window. "Mindy, Mindy, it's me Melissa"
Page seventy. Kallan wakes up and answers a text on his phone, layer he hears a knock at the door. Javion is now in his apartment wearing sweatpants and reading a magazine. Woman: Melissa!? Melissa: I left the community! Woman: Oh my God! Does anyone else know? Are you OK?
Page Seventy-one Hayden: Hi Kallan: Hey. So how've you been? Hayden: Uh, everybody's gonna be furious with me...maybe...I dunno, guess I'll find out. They'll be alright. I need a day. Kallan: Yeah, yeah, so, you ate yet? Ya' hungry? Hayden: Yeah, I could ear, what's good here? All I've had to eat today was chicken soup.

One possible origin for Chewie is that they came over on a cargo ship, but I favor the idea that they're just native to the US as well as PR and Mexico. #MOCQ

The largest and strongest bigfoot can always be replaced by a larger and stronger bigfoot but more importantly he's balanced out by other factors like kinship bonds and female solidarity.
The Hags presumably have an understood next in line after Doctor Wode just in case.

I never saw it but the aesthetic of it feels like what I imagined for heavy hard. Fury Road sort of dawned on me later, the technology aside from guns and cars all seems different but not inexplicable. I notice both my examples are dystopian where I never got that impression of the Expanse.

I maybe should have said "bodysnatch" or "shapeshift" instead of how I phrased something in a recent post. It's probably fine, I don't think anyone cared. The word I used isn't even a direct translation of...nevermind.
Chewie is urban wildlife. He even takes odd jobs for human money sometimes. I dont think he knows he's eaten human meat.
The he-bigfoots see Hags as fun to party with but you wouldn't bring one home.
The Ghouls probably are just human but they see others as prey animals.
