Multi-coloured pentagon fabric ball.
1 1/4 inch pentagon ball. A bit fiddly, but not as fiddly as you would imagine. Bigger pentagons would have made it much easier. #quilting #skyquilt #quiltsky
And by the sound of it, she gives her full approval!
Many years ago in Anerley, South London. I had crossed at the crossing but my partner had not. I stood across the road waiting. A giant rat came out of a bush and joined him at the pelican crossing. They both waited until the green man appeared and the beeps started. Then, they both crossed.

There are (or were) a number things named Burgoyne in the place where I live. So, I looked up General John Burgoyne and sure enough he was born in Bedfordshire, a couple of miles from where I live. Not only that, he was also MP for the town of Preston, where I was born. Fabulous coincidence!
Quilt book. American heritage quilts.
I bought this book in a second-hand shop yesterday, partly because I was taken with the quilt on the front. While reading it, I discovered the block in the quilt is called 'Burgoyne Surrounded' after a British general defeated in the American War of Independence. (1)
There is inspiration everywhere!
Romanesque Carving from church
Sheela-na-gig carving. St Mary & St David, Kilpeck, Herefordshire. I think we had better not quilt this! #quilting #quiltsky #skyquilt
Red and black tiled floor.
Hereford Cathedral tiled floor. I think we can quilt this. #quilting #skyquilt #quiltsky
Fantastic! I love the colours. Socks should be demented.
It is a crossover between IWM and Liberty. Sold probably at the museums and online.
Good idea!
I think you might be amused to know that your new guitar has ended up all over the modern quilting feed.
Two quilt blocks.
The second block. I didn't find it any easier than the first though I knew where the problems were this time. #quilting #skyquilt #quiltsky
Patchwork in blue, red and white.
First of four, but this one is a bit dodgy so might do five and pick the best. Assuming they improved...The pattern is Dublin Steps from a 2021 edition of British Patchwork & Quilting magazines. #quilting #quiltsky #skyquilt

Yellow star Sashiko.
This was my first attempt at Sashiko. I got it for Christmas. Definitely struggled with neat, even stitches. They improved when I got brave enough to stitch a few at a time. Also, I doubled the thread but it is much better as single thread in the red one. #sashiko #quilting #quiltsky #skyquilt
Quality control. Very diligent.
Fast asleep on a dressing gown. π
Sashiko pattern printed cloth with red stitches.
Lily left me unsupervised and I actually managed to make some progress. This exactly the kind of thing she is trying to prevent. She will be furious! #quilting #quiltsky #skyquilt #sashiko
Stained glass stick quilt block in variety of pink batiks.
Big, pink stained-glass style block. It's about 13.5 inches. #quilting #quiltsky #skyquilt

Now to try a bigger one. #quiltsky #skyquilt #skyquilting #Quilting
Green stained glass look quilt block.
An attempt at a stained-glass style with batiks. I learned that I designed the individual pieces too small for a good colour to leading ratio. #skyquilts #quiltsky #skyquilting
Three footprints in the snow.
Three footprints in the snow.
We don't get much snow in Bedfordshire but we had a little bit this week. Here are two photos eight years apart, of my sons and my footprints. The one on the left March 2018 and the one on the right January 2026. Mine is the biggest in 2018 but the smallest in 2026.
Some absolutely top notch orange cattery here
Flock of long-tailed tits
Long-tailed tits.
Ah! Thank you. We don't have them here. I think they are beautiful though. My absolute favourite is a long-tailed tit. Very tiny and lively.
