There are 2 reasons gestures like this mean so much.

1. These take a lot of time & effort to create — it’s humbling to know ppl are willing to do so

2. They demonstrate that we’re not alone in trying to fight for a brighter future.

My thoughts on Virginia’s redistricting amendment.

it’s not about the maps, it’s about stopping unchecked power.

Vote yes by April 21st.

I know people are concerned about Trump and impending election interference — I share them.

Democracy and dignity are on the line in this election, and so is ability to hold elections in the first place.

We need to be ready. Not just as a party, but as a people.

There’s nothing in this speech that ppl in the 1st district don’t already know.

Wittman, Trump, and MAGA politicians aren’t interested in solutions for everyday people. They’re only interested in engaging in the politics of division and scapegoating. All the while ignoring us.

That ends in 2026.

I call myself a Reformist Democrat.

That means no corporate cash, no party-over-people politics, and no pretending the system works for people when it doesn’t.

We all pay into this system.

We all contribute.

We all deserve real representation.

Reform is how we get something better.

The damage Data Centers inflict on our neighborhoods and our electric bills is a reflection of how Government allows Big Tech and Big Industry to mistreat everyday people.

And we’re told we’re not rich enough to stop them — that’s a lie.

That was my message at Data Center Lobby Day this week.

Tim Cywinski Statement on Proposed Redistricting Amendment Like all 2026 candidates running for Congress in Virginia, l've received a lot of questions about the proposed congressional maps tied to the redistricting amendment. Here are my official thoughts:

70% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. • 51% of Virginia households are going into debt just to afford groceries. • Virginians are paying 13% more for electricity over the last two years, driven by unchecked data center expansion that sacrifices our neighborhoods for Big Tech profits while families pick up the tab. • 350,000 Virginians are at risk of losing their healthcare — and even with insurance, medical debt remains the leading cause of bankruptcy.

I will continue running in Virginia's current 1st Congressional District because Rob Wittman has failed to deliver real results for real people. He's too busy kissing up to MAGA leadership, holding lavish fundraisers during government shutdowns, and refusing to hold town halls with the people he is supposed to serve. I will expose that record because accountability matters. And I will continue to fight for A New Way Forward because the future isn't something we're given — it's something we build, and building it better matters.

The new maps represent a new challenge to candidates like me — candidates who refuse corporate money, who are not wealthy or well-connected, and who believe support should be earned, not bought or anointed. But I support the redistricting amendment because our democracy is on the line - and choosing comfort over responsibility is how systems fail, not how they're fixed. Running for office is not easy. It requires a leap of faith. My faith is in people. And every person deserves representation, even if they can't afford a lobbyist. Let’s be clear, there’s no guarantee the amendment will pass, the GOP will spends millions fighting our effort to balance the scales.

I’m running to restore representation to the ppl of the 1st. If that hurts my chances at winning a primary so be it.

A VCU student asked me what happens when party pressure and lobbyists show up.

It’s a fair question. Here’s my answer:

Ideals are compromised only if you’re afraid to use power when you have it.

I’m not.

Oh damn. Thanks for letting me know! I’ll fix that right away.

ICE has been used a tool for cruelty and violence against innocent people.

If one entity can do so much harm in such a short amount of time, it needs to go.

No amount of gaslighting from the Trump crowd can hide what we’re seeing — ICE agents killing innocent people.

This isn’t “law and order,” it’s unleashed, unchecked brutality of this administration.

ICE has to end this reign of terror.

Enough bloodshed. Accountability now.

When an agency reaches this level of cruelty, there must be consequences.

And let’s be clear about this:

Harming innocent children doesn’t lower healthcare prices.

It doesn’t lower everyday costs.

And it doesn’t make us safer.

It’s just cruel. I won’t stand for it.

People gathered around the Virginia war memorial to remember the legacy of civil rights and honor recent victims of ICE brutality.

A crowd gathered around a speaker at RVA Indivisble vigil for peace. Speakers spoke about the need for justice and action in an era defined by division, discrimination, and cruelty by the federal government.

Attendees of the VIGIL for Peace gathered to listen to speakers of the event.

A candlelight vigil memorial to some of the victims who lost their lives at the hands of ICE officers. It incudes pictures of the victims and a sign that reads “rest in peace. Your lives matter. We call for Justice against ICE”

So many people gathered to honor the legacy of champions for change & show a willingness to fight for a future we’ve longed deserved.

The brutality executed by ICE on a daily basis — both in our neighborhoods & on people of color — is unacceptable.

I’m mad that this violence is so well funded, when that money should go to investing in people, not hatred.

Immigrants are part of this country. Systems built on cruelty are not.

Yesterday, I spoke at the Stop The Data Center Takeover Rally for my Job at the Virginia Sierra Club — the only way to stop Big Tech from destroying our neighborhoods is through local community resistance.

As a Congressman, I will end Big Tech’s exploitation of Va and everywhere else.

Virginia disability advocates call for stronger regulations after preventable deaths report A new report reveals alarming trends in sudden and unexpected deaths among Virginians with intellectual and developmental disabilities who receive state-licensed services.

This is severely unacceptable.

People died when they didn’t have to — all because we fail to uphold our duty to respect the dignity of certain groups.
