Jokes on them...it was still linked to my events spreadsheet, and now their website looks like this 😉

If you make something popular enough eventually you will die or sell it off and and a person in thick rimmed glasses whose main artistic vision is that he loves to have meetings will take it and sandblast it until it's nothing. I hate to see this happen here but maybe it's good that this happened. Maybe every franchise should collapse into a version of itself that makes shareholders nod and shake each others' hands. We should learn to speak in a language that rich people who don't dream can't comprehend.

Good call on the laxatives. I wish someone had explained to me when I got laparoscopic surgery in 2020 that the pain meds would erase my ability to poop. For at least a week. I would eat a footlong and start crying "Where did it go?!? It has to go somewhere!!!" 😭

i even read a bunch of HPMOR while I was traveling for EVO 2024, which i enjoyed at first but eventually became a slog.

this has opened a whole can of worms where i'm now revisiting and re-evaluating some memories. im also excited to listen to more BTB.

i had a close friend 13 years ago who was really into LessWrong and Effective Altruism who would talk to me about it for hours. moreso charity stuff, not the super ai. i found it convincing and it gave me a bit of existential crisis. thankfully my normie roommates helped give me some perspective.

seeing this a few days ago made me try to find the episode on JK Rowling, because i was vaguely aware of BTB and ive loved listening to other long videos critical of her (eg shaun, contrapoints). i ended up finding the 4 episodes on the Zizians, and then proceeded to binge it.

This was so cool! I knew you were bringing Qualia but I was just expecting a laptop or simple cabinet enclosure. I was floored when I saw the whole setup. Really inspiring TBH, makes me want to do something special for indie arcade next year.

That’s true. I’m proud of what we launched with but it was very obviously incomplete and I didn’t feel comfortable charging money for it for another year.

I had a full time job but I worked on TLA like I didn’t. My job performance definitely was impacted. No regrets but not sustainable 😔

Technically it’s still in beta, so 6+ years :’) but it was 15 months from start to beta

My current one will hopefully be fully released in 3 🙏

I don't know how I would make a fighting game in less than 3 years :(
