I don't disagree. I am just hoping this signals greater collaboration from the different parties in CanSoc. And certainly this wouldn't preclude additional funding to the semi-pro level.

Still reviewing the agreement, but one promising element is Womenโs Canadian Championship revenue will go to #NSL. Hoping that means NSL was part of negotiations and we're working to mend relations in the sport #Canpl #CanXNT #CanMNT
26.1 Update - Fixed bricking of CCC; changed Dynamo Quebec to Quebec FC to reflect leaked news; fixed 2d and 3d kits incorrectly displaying; transfer embargo and debt now placed on Valour in 2026 to encourage sale of players etc. yellowsweatygorilla.com/2025/12/24/c... #CanPL #NSL
Temporary fix by reverting CCC back to vanilla ... the problem is that the vanilla version has the regular season winner/runner-up qualifying instead of the regular season/playoff winner. It will have to do for now
I just realized Concacaf Champions Cup is bricked and the U21 rule for CPL wasn't working. I've fixed the latter (redownload) but will need time for the former. I recommend waiting for the fix before you start a game.
I intend to add #NSL kits and fix the compromises I had to make due to game glitches (e.g. 2026 L1Q and L1O men's set up for 2025) at a later date.

The Canadian Megapatch for #fm26 is out! New this year is playable #nsl and women's leagues down to the 4th division. As always, it also revamps the men's leagues, making #League1Canada playable + adds faces, badges, reporters, coaches, USport etc. #CanPL

Those shirts and these signs from supporters of the two teams which were cut from the CBS broadcast very clearly rankled people at USL HQ if they had to go to those lengths

Graphic showing the trophy celebrations from the USL League One and USL Championship trophy celebrations with the words: Two Finals. Two Leagues. Two Very Different Endings.
Photo of the USL League One Final celebration trophy lift by One Knox with the stage saying CHAMPIONS in big text and confetti in full view
The USL Championship trophy lift with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds with noticeably no USL Champion signage or confetti anywhere
From @us|players: Two finals. Two leagues. Two totally different endings. Last week, League One got the full trophy moment - stage, confetti, everything. This week, the Championship winners got none of it... even though all the ceremony materials were bought and ready on-site. The league canceled the celebration because players wore shirts calling for better standards. A quiet, united stand - met with silence. But canceling the moment doesn't cancel the message. It proves it. #StandUpForStandards
This post by the USLPA needs to be seen and read.
The league withheld the materials from the USL Championship trophy celebration in retaliation for the players walking out in their USLPA shirts along with cutting out broadcast angles with that message.

Does "MLS also has gotten green light from FIFA and Concacaf to include the three Canadian MLS teams as domestic" have any implications beyond the transfer windows aligning for those three teams?
And I assume this means that CPL teams can remain with the distinctive Canadian transfer windows?

@nsl.ca just made an appearance on my fav football podcast Football Cliches (open.spotify.com/show/6U4LfcF...)! At the 30:50 mark of the Jan 13 show, the team expresses skepticism about the choice of attributes to describe GK Tynan. It's all tongue-in-cheek but happy to have our league discussed.
So much has been gained for all workers thanks to CUPW members: collective bargaining rights (!), paid parental leave, job security, the right to retire with dignity, and safe working conditions.

Wrote this 5 years ago and it's finally out. Social Work Abolitionism in the Midst of the Hong Kong Protests explores the social work abolitionist praxis that emerged in this context of the protests, from aunties cooking food for protestors to underground clinics.

"If HKers are to honor [Long Hair's] activism in the wake of his sentencing, we must internalize his multi-angulated analysis of global empire, up to and including his critique of Israel and defense of Palestinian's right to life, right to return, and the struggle for decolonization."
"contextualize our critique of China's further crackdown on Hong Kong activists in the ongoing genocide of Palestinians ... a forceful recognition of the US' hypocrisy that sees officials condemning the kangaroo courts of HK while supplying an endless stream of arms to Israel"
But first, Gaines invites the Nevada volleyball players, wearing black "BOYcott" T-shirts, to the stage. Many in the crowd stand and wave signs saying "Protect Women's Sports" and "I stand with Nevada volleyball." Nevada is the fifth team that has refused to play San Jose State this season. The schools have not cited the San Jose State player as a reason for the forfeits, but the Nevada players are here to make their perspective clear. Nevada captain Sia Liilii steps to the microphone. She wipes away tears. "I never expected to be blindsided, having to compete against a male athlete," she says. "When the news broke, I was stunned, as many of my teammates were. This is not what we signed up for."
"A lot of players that I talk to have been like, 'Have you been in the Nebraska gym? Have you been in the Texas gym?'" said former Texas player and AVCA national player of the year Logan Eggleston. "These biological women are hitting the ball just as hard or maybe, probably, harder and jumping even higher and all these things. That's kind of the conversation I've been hearing, is, 'Yeah, this woman at San Jose State, yes, she might be transgender, but that doesn't make her this superhuman athlete that's crushing other people.'"
Multiple clips of the San Jose State player have been shared across social media, showing her striking the ball hard and sometimes hitting opposing players with the ball. "I get hit in the face in practice every single day -- either blocking or playing back-row defense," former Pitt and Penn State star Serena Gray said. "This is normal." "I think it was ridiculous how people kept saying, 'Oh, this is why it's dangerous,'" Michigan State outside hitter Akasha Anderson said. "At the end of the day, all these top-25, top-50 big-time programs have male practice players, male coaches constantly playing. If we're talking about danger, I feel like that's not a fair argument to make in this situation."
The sheer athletic cowardice of San Jose State women's vball opponents is remarkable. These individuals are either crying the wettest possible crocodile tears, or they simply do not belong in high performance sport. Just compare them to the comments of P4 players.
