I’m very proud of this one, the fit, the design, the construction are all entirely from my brain from start to finish – I didn’t base it off any previous raglan I’d knitted, I sat there and did some maths.

Now celebrating having finally cast off after what felt like millennia!

*trial and error

This is exactly how I feel as well. When I’ve written patterns in the past, I start at the biggest size, because if it fits well on the biggest frame, then it will almost always also suit smaller frames (and if not – trail and error). Multiplying stitch counts does not a good fit make!

For no reason whatsoever, have two whole minutes of knitting #asmr, while I work on my #fastenistajumper!

The all-important question, if I were to write this up, would anyone actually be interested in knitting it? 😂🧷

Well, here it is! I stupidly decided to give myself eleven days to design and knit a lacy shirt(?) to wear for London Pride on Saturday – and did it in ten.

I knitted this in three pieces and then trimmed in crochet. I didn’t get any pictures at pride, but one taken on Sunday! #knitting

This! I had someone chastise me at work because I was eating prawn cocktail crisps, and they ‘thought I was allergic’. Like a prawn has ever been anywhere near a packet of crisps, they’re basically tomato and spice flavoured.

If I need them again I will always take them but this is the worst I’ve felt in a long while. The oppressive mugginess of London doesn’t help at all. I can feel a wave of sadness creeping over me, and my usual coping mechanisms don’t seem to be helping me this time.

The depression has hit today. There’s been a lot of adrenaline in the last few weeks, and I think I’m on a comedown. I find it hard to talk about it as someone who’s been about a year off antidepressants after a decade of taking them, because it makes me feel like I’m back-pedalling a bit.

Me too! I will say that I’ve had an uptick in people shouting homophobic things at me on the street. More in the last two years than in the previous decade. It really gets me down sometimes, but I suppose all I can do it continue to be visible and be myself.
