I frequently get to The Last Tissue in a tissue box and it always feels Wrong. There should never be One last tissue.

Yupp! It's an old school trick with buttercream, presumably because it's much easier for cake decorating since real buttercream likes to misbehave if you so much as look at it wrong. But I also think the taste is better with the crisco. But for the most part it's the same recipe!
TO EACH THEIR OWN. Sidenote, if you are making "traditional" buttercream yeah it is a pain in the ass. But crisco and butter in equal amounts instead of all butter is much easier and better overall imo. I also love baking in general so maybe I'm biased..idk 😂
