Gamedev on the bus again - failed at retopology for half an hour, then implemented damage propagation of the Lindwurm's tail to the head, which keeps track of the health.
Sometimes OOP does come in handy, overwriting the tail's damage method to just apply it to the head was eeeeasy :)

It's all in isometric view from a bit of a distance away and there's a featureless grey person standing in front of the Lindwurm. It's about the same height as the person, but roughly 10 people long
Currently a very ugly caterpillar being pulled by a featherless chicken, the fearsome Lindwurm is taking shape!
Here's to hoping that this'll be the thing I look back at, because it looks _better_ in the future^^

It'll be the most basic version of that creature - a big snake with forelegs, because... less to animate^^

Games being more... static is really weird though, guess if it's not a stated goal of the game to have destructible environments, then it's really true...
And yeah, a lot of techniques scale really badly with more resolution, hence DLSS :/

What do you see as a current frontier of computer graphics?
I feel like all that is left is PHD-level innovations in hyper-realistic rendering^^
I'm very much on the scrappy indie graphics team, because that's all I manage^^
The nice thing is, nowadays we can choose our limitations - but being able to overcome them easily is probably not the best thing^^
Guess that's why pico-8 and all these fantasy consoles are such a hit :)
...didn't think possible in those engines.
And of course once you have access to shaders, all bets are off^^
(I find the more limited your engine, the better for creativity, because *vaguely gestures* workarounds!)
