like Jason Hickel, or regular people like me, who understand this, have no media presence, and no power at all.
Even just mild Green social democracy, as offered by Zack Polanski, faces insane attacks in the media; as if theyโre some kind of extremists; which is not remotely the case.

Politics around the world is incredibly bad. Itโs hard to imagine a worse situation.
Nothing serious will be done in the next few years at least. Itโs existential for humanity and no oneโs doing anything that would make the slightest difference. And those who are saying what needs to happenโฆ

Every time I watch something in mainstream media about the climate, itโs shocking the level of playing it down.
The truth is: things are already catastrophic. Theyโre going to get so much worse still. Weโre effectively doing nothing about the situation. Weโre still making it worse (much worse)โฆ

To be clear; itโs not just Freely. All streaming services from traditional broadcasters are anti-viewer. Theyโre all less convenient than the cable and sat services were 15 years ago, and we canโt accept that.
The technology is there to make it better than ever, and theyโre refusing to do it.

you have stuff like Freely, which is replacing terrestrial digital broadcasts.
Thereโs definitely a lot of improvements to be made though with Freely. Not in the technology, but the policies. Itโs very anti-viewer. Itโs clearly not as user friendly as it could be. A backwards step from cable / sat.

Itโs kind of interesting looking at IPTV now. You have things like Pluto TV and Rakuten TV; that are doing what Joost was trying to do in the early days when there was no audience for it.
And then you have the paid streaming stuff from traditional cable and satellite broadcasters.
And thenโฆ

something that absurd on TV at a minimum. And actually, itโs bordering on inciting hatred and maybe even violence against the Green Party. I donโt think itโs an exaggeration to say that in such a dumbed down, unequal society where thereโs a lot of anger bubbling away below the surface.

The final question on Question Time last night was billed as being lighthearted. I think deranged might be a better description of an idiot calling the Greens dangerous extremists for wanting animals on banknotes. Not that it was anything to do with them anyway. You should be ashamed for sayingโฆ

This is presumably the part where the right wingers make some kind of bizarre argument that we didnโt need to massively invest public money in renewable energy and storage after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in order to prevent energy prices spikes from happening again in future (aka now).

I find it extremely hard to believe that Fiona Bruce โis a bit unclear about NATOโ, and the Greensโ position on it.
Itโs an easy attack line, just as she always seems to be unclear about the Greensโ supposed policy on โwanting a world without bordersโ.
Itโs always just disingenuous attacks.

Although having read a bit more about Churchill as a chancellor, he did some things I would agree with. It wasnโt as right wing of a time where the neoliberals donโt give anyone left of centre anything. Not even crumbs. Whereas back then theyโd at least make some small attempt to keep us happy.

This Tory using the trick of saying the rich pay 60% of all taxes (because they hoard so much wealth, that even paying a lower percentage of tax, they make up the majority share).
The rich should be making up more like 90% of all taxes paid in my view.

The Tories these days are just fucking brain dead.
The energy policy of a centre-right Conservative Party (if such a thing existed now) should be to build solar, wind, and grid battery storage. Itโs not inherently a left wing position.

Tories literally say that renewable energy increases peopleโs bills, when fossil fuel prices are very clearly raising the costs of peopleโs bills because of wars in areas of the world where thereโs a lot of fossil fuel production.
Itโs opposite day every day with conservatives. Always has been.

UK Defence Strategy written by a Degrowth Communist
All tanks are as useless as this destroyed one in modern warfare As with my previous articles in this series; this one will seem very shocking if youโre used to consuming British mainstream news coโฆ
I wrote in this recent blog that warships and aircraft carriers are easy targets in modern war. And therefore theyโre essentially just toys. They serve no real purpose that canโt be done better by some other type of military equipment. And the news proves the point.

Spoon is in the middle (the Goldilocks porridge of stranger audio chat apps). Itโs more intimate; but thereโs still a host, and a topic or theme. And I think multiple people can be invited to speak. But itโs not a crazy free-for-all with people jumping in and out constantly, like Walkie Talkie.

I wish we had the Asian audio chat app Spoon in the rest of the world. I tried this Walkie Talkie app because I was sick of waiting for something that may never happen. Itโs sort of fun, but chaotic (and full of stupid people). Itโs the opposite of Clubhouse, which is too formal. This is just nuts..

Jacob Rees-Mogg in 2026: The sun doesn't always shine and the wind doesn't always blow. And have you heard of Fracking? What a wonderful technology.
Are these fuckers going to still be saying this in 2030? 2035? When will we finally be able to have a serious conversation about what has to happen?

Sanchez is correct in refusing to allow the US to use joint military bases to carry out their war crimes against the people of Iran. He demonstrates real spine here, and models leadership to the rest of Europe.

War fuels debate in Cyprus over UK military bases
โBritish Bases Outโ is the slogan of Cypriot protesters after a drone strike targeted the RAF Akrotiri airbase.
Of course it does. And of course the Brits should be unceremoniously booted out as soon as possible.
Even if Cypriotsโ safety was guaranteed, (which it obviously isnโt), there should be no RAF presence there at all.

Why wonโt BBC Sounds let you pick a handful of your favourite stations to appear at the top carousel, like every other radio app seemingly does?
And also, why is the iPlayer app for Apple TV so awful? The navigation makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Do they not want peopel to use it?
