So why are the fossil fuel polluters breaking our climate getting away without paying?

Trump touts climate savings but new rule set to push up US prices
Critics accuse administration of βcooking the booksβ by claiming US would save $1.3tn from climate finding reversal
βIn total, this means the repeal of the endangerment finding will impose an estimated costs of $1.5tn, overshadowing the projected $1.3tn in savings. And thatβs before you take into the huge social and climate costs.β

Australiaβs grid now relies on renewable energy as much as coal. Those who doubted it look foolish
Solar met the majority of electricity demand between 9am and 6pm in the past week as much of the country cranked air conditioners
For the first time ever, clean energy supplied over half of Australiaβs national electricity market. Compared to the same period a year earlier, wholesale electricity prices dropped by almost half.
Clean energy is cheaper electricity. End of story.

Offshore wind showed up big during the East Coastβs brutal cold
Americaβs two utility-scale offshore wind farms performed as well as gas power plants and better than coal in January β including during Winter Storm Fern.
As we recover from the snowstorm that hit the Northeast US, guess which energy source delivered?
Hereβs a hint: It rhymes with βdetermined.β
βOffshore wind delivers reliable power when the grid needs it the most... at the scale this region and our country need.β

TVA reverses course, votes to keep Tennessee coal plants open
The Tennessee Valley Authorityβs board voted unanimously to keep its coal plants open, reversing a 2024 decision to close the Kingston and Cumberland coal facilities.
The Tennessee Valley Authority, the nationβs largest federally owned electric utility, reversed the shutdown of what Trump likes to call βbeautiful, clean coalβ plants.
In 2008, these βcleanβ plants spilled 1.1 billion gallons of coal ash into Tennessee communities. Communities deserve better.

As always, our founder Al Gore didnβt mince words at Davos β and for good reason.
But the most important takeaway from his interview is this: fossil fuels are being replaced because clean energy works. Itβs cheaper, safer, and already here. Ignoring that reality isnβt leadership β itβs insanity.

Tell the World Bank: Fund Just Clean Energy for a Livable Planet
Why is the World Bank still pumping billions into fossil fuel projects driving climate change and ecological destruction? Itβs time for the bank to honor its mission.
The World Bank can help create a livable planet β but only if it stops funding fossil fuels and starts supporting clean, fair energy for all.
