Point 2, I would say it would be naiive to say that should be the only measure of an economic-political system.
You could theoretically have a system nearly completely immune to oligarchical capture of the political system, but is objectively terrible for it's populace.
Technically, classically the base model has been the grand caravan, while the up-trim was the town and country, so it's not unheard of for Chrysler to pull these shenanigans... They just had a separate brand to hide it before.

That's not a problem you can solve with the economic system. You need to first solve it in the political system, by holding those accountable when they are corrupt and incentivising people to do the right thing.
The problem isn't as simple as "blame capitalism"... It's been brought upon us by our leaders continuously allowing themselves to be bought and paid for by private interest groups (see billionaires and big corpos). We don't live in a capitalist society anymore, we live in an oligarchy.

A lot of people in this thread are claiming "eugenics", and I could be wrong... but as far as I can tell, they're only selecting for people that can afford £17k in fertility treatments, and then an extra £5k for egg freezing.
From what I'm reading by searching "a hospital in London that's using AI to improve the fertility success rate of IVF", it's basically one clinic using AI to do their statistics homework for them, all while up-charging women for fertility treatments... because AI.
They did this to me when I broke my collarbone last year. The intake doctor said "We're using Copilot or whatever during the intake exams, is that ok..."
I think I was too much in shock to say no, so I just let him go for it.
Really wish I hadn't though. Be prepared for when it happens to you.
