They basically need to guess for all the 1's and l's what they are supposed to be. That takes time even for a computer script
The reason they can do this is that the raw email contained the Base64 encoding of the unredacted email. DoJ printed and scanned all the raw emails and released them after the normal text was redacted. Why the unredaction is hard: Courier New font has similar glyphs for 1 and lower-case L
I dont have any good tips other than taking frequent breaks and centering yourself mentally during the break. That usually works for me when I'm in a mood. If it doesnt, it means that I need to not be doing The Thing at that point in time
Recognizing the issue and walking away from the cause is a really good start! I'm tempted to say the self-deprecating voice is not an anger issue, but maybe depression. Anyway, it's a struggle and something to work towards.
