The image features two individuals posed closely together against a rich, red background. In the foreground, a woman with short black hair styled in a bob, has her head tilted back with her eyes closed and lips painted bright red. She is wearing a sheer black top with a deep neckline. Behind her, a man is partially obscured, standing closely with only his face visible. His eyes look intently forward, and he has light brown hair. The lighting creates a dramatic contrast, highlighting the contours of their faces and accentuating the striking features of the woman's makeup.

What every rebel and history lover will want in their stocking this year.

This was the best thing I’ve read in a long time
A black and white illustration of John Masefield's Box of Delights. An elderly bearded man trudges through snow pursued by wolves. Trees flank the scene, which appears to emerge from a box and a ghostly face gazes at it in the background. There is a white house on a hill and a aeroplane in the sky.
The Box of Delights, you say? Starting on BBC4 at 7pm on the 7th December preceded by a new introduction by director Renny Rye? If you didn't know, I have a BoD print in various sizes (and cards too) in my shop for some if not all of your Boxy printy needs. I thank you.

Four Interdimensional Portals I've Encountered During Country Walks:

2. Gateway To The Land Of Leaping Dogs.
3. “STEP INTO MY TREEFACE FOR A SPECIAL TREAT.”
4. “You can’t miss it. Straight through the gate after the giant Ronnie Corbett spectacles.”

A pencil drawing on paper with some completed/work in progress areas of crosshatch pen. A man stands in front of his open fireplace on an ornate floral rug. He stares into the fire with a poker in one hand and the other in his pocket, he looks like he is in deep thought. A Christmas tree with decorations and packages beneath it on the left of the image and a section of a wingback chair on the right. A framed picture on the wall above the fire.
The same illustration as previously described but completed with black crosshatch pen on paper. Some areas are dark where the pen has crosshatched many times, some are grey with one or two lines of pen crossed over, in other areas the paper is left almost white to indicate where light is (the bright fire or candle flame for instance). Shadow across the rug from the firelight casts shadows of the chaps legs across the rug. Atmospheric and gloomily festive.
From start to finish. Christmas Eve from The Woman in Black written by Susan hill. Pen and pencil on paper. Published by Vintage Classics.
