Warm ups part 4
I went to art school...
I had no clue this is what people meant by "warm ups". Like, a whole routine? Each part specific and functional? Dang.
Probably would have less "forgot how to draw" days if I did these every time. I'm gonna try it.
Finished my mentorship with @paulscottcanavan.com !!
That was so fun and I'm so proud of his this piece turned out! Paul is such a great teacher. Time to use the infinite wisdom I gained from MIR for my next pieces
Hey Katrina, this sounds super fun and I'd love to be considered.
Here's a few samples of different portraits and studies from my portfolio.

Creatures formed from lava rise up from the burning pool
A group of knights, some holding banners reach the edge of a cliff and witness the large looming castle they were seeking
On a mountainous range, snow rests on a path leading the viewer to large stone towers in the distance. From each tower a thick orange beam of light emits from the centre of the structure towards the sky.
Example of an art card sold by INPRNT. Pictured is my artwork 'Elementals From Below' which features 6 golden molten creatures emerging from a pool of lava.
If you want my art on your wall, now is a great time to grab some as INPRNT currently have a sale on for art prints www.inprnt.com/gallery/nath...
If you have limited space on the walls (or a picky landlord), you can pickup cool mini art cards too!

Value study painting of the master work by Richard Schmid (painting name unknown to me right now)
Now I've finally shaken off the Christmas break lethargy, I've got a new internal drive to study and improve my current skills.
In that end, here's today's value study of a painting by Richard Schmid
Thanks Samara!
Thanks so much!

Mistborn
An illustration depicting a tiefling standing in amongst a crowd, wearing regal clothing. He is glancing back over his shoulder with a smirk as he throws petals back towards his followers who gaze up towards him with adoration.

a range of works for my art vs artist 2025, some personal and others professional - featuring me and my cat!
Really happy to share my #artvsartist 2025 as this was the year I returned to freelancing after being made redundant from my games job - and what a year it was! β¨
Thank you so much to the clients who supported me - I feel like my work grew a lot through challenges faced <3 Let's go, 2026! πͺ
This is so cool! Such a lovely piece Veronica!
Digital illustration depicting a scene from a classroom of magic users. One student at the centre attempts to control the unwieldy water based magic that rises up out of a book. She has an expression of shock as the magic backfires on her. Behind her is another student and a teacher who gazes on in disappointment.
The dangers of magic π

Hello to the bunch of new followers who popped up this week π
Great to see new faces!
I've got a bunch of work in NDA land right now but the Christmas break means I can spend time painting some personal pieces too which I'll share soon
Some thoughts: When using GenAi as a mood board you don't get sources. This means you deprive yourself from knowledge. You generated a location? You deprived yourself of knowing more about the interesting parts of the world and why things came to be. Generate an armor or costume? You deprived yourself on real world techniques, function, form and history. You generated art inspirations? You deprive yourself of learning about artists from history or lock out living ones from potentially being hired. Ethical issues of using GenAi models aside, one ends up making visuals mood boards devoid of reality and history. With it one deprives themselves from learning about our world and who is living in it, inadvertently making your work weaker, because of how detached it is from our shared human reality and history.
Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things.
Hereβs a blurb on what I mean:
