Well letβs call Bargatze as a one-and-done on the hosting thing.

Colbert Class. Always.
Funny idea, but this Emmys speech-shortening bit is a bust. Getting played off has been replaced byβ¦.getting shamed off?? Speeches deliver fun moments on these awards shows. Now everyone is just rushing through the same names.
The shooters who fall into this mold implicitly understand these internet dynamics. They seek an audience, but they are also acting out to get the worldβespecially the online worldβto respond. βIf you read this you are gay lmaoβ is a trolly, nihilistic thing to inscribe on a bullet casing, but the point is for people to see it, for people like me to write it down so that people like you can read it and feel something, be it shock, outrage, confusion, or sadness. The shooters may not have a coherent ideology, or even be particularly politically motivated per se, but they seem to know the ecosystem they are dropping their horrific acts of violence into. For some shooters, online communitiesβwith all their irony-poisoning, shitposting, and feudingβare more real, or at least more meaningful, than physical ones. With their senseless violence, these killers are bringing a part of that networked, online chaos to tangible, life-and-death reality. They know that their violence will be flattened, picked apart, argued over, and, crucially, amplified by the justification machine. In this way, they will get what theyβre after. The violence will continue.
said it yesterday but the people who commit this violence increasingly show us that they deeply understand how our information ecosystems process it. It appears to be part of the appeal for them. And yet the response doesn't really change. www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...
Heβs either the most sophisticated con man alive or heβs insane.
This is the most 2025 thing ever.
*at best
Good god this an unhinged, completely devoid of reality, take.
Then at he is are editing/splicing together other peoples music. I canβt believe people read this shit and think βhow amazing technology is!β
This feels like a "get off BlueSky and get back to your WIP" sub-tweet, and I accept that.
The vocal fry (I know itβs medical) is a weird Xfactor too. Gives him a mystique vibe makes people go βhow interestingβ instead of βhow predatory and insaneβ
Just spit it out you stupid moron
Given this it makes total sense to implement AI in schools K to university. Waiting for the institution-directed lawsuits from parents. Education administrators are prob feverishly drawing up waivers like one signs before bungee jumping.
I agree the book is valuable because of the unvarnished inside view. But the author and her sense of herself was problematic throughout and made it a weaker read.
OMG you guys. I know thereβs still an election to win, but she wonβt be in it? Madam βEverybody diesβ is going back to wherever she came from?
Good things are possible.
Oh thank god Iβm so relieved. They fixed it. ππππππππ
I feel this. But I also find myself oddly relieved. We had a thesis that information access was the key to knowledge and wisdom.
Turns out intermediaries (like teachers and critics) and shared learning spaces where we have to test our learning and opinions against the thinking of others β¦ matter.
I seriously can't believe that OpenAI's solution to its software facilitating suicide is to instead... have it call the cops.
Why donβt we bring in two kids from each city and have them compete to the death to decide while weβre at it?
Did I miss a bit of news/palace gossip?
You know everything you need to know about where the monoculture is by the fact that we are re-platforming this woman who literally tortured people on TV for money.
Thanks for not actually reading and implying the worst possible intent. A+ internet behavior.
Your comment is incredibly condescending as if I donβt know what it was like to manage my own schedule, make my own breakfast, lock myself in the house as a latchkey kid with two working parents who were workaholics.
Compassion Reigns Supreme???π
I know. These sentences are hard to craft because I love our educators. The system is cracking underneath the pressure and the kids, I think, are getting the fallout.
I suspect many will blame me for βoverbookingβ my kids. They are doing normal things. Band. Sports. Show choir.
They got email after email over the weekend for the first day of school with dozens of bullet points each to remember.
School is different now.
The mental load framing is huge. Today we sent out 3 kids for their first day. The day is booked from 6am to 8pm with school events. 5 different changes of clothes. 4 packed meals. Multiple pickups and drop offs.
I get no phones. I do. But asking kids to get all this right for 10 hrs everydayβ¦
Neither statement is true. Despite our tireless teachers and public school staffs.
Somebody needs to tell Ezra Klein that he doesnβt need to make being contrarian to whatever he perceives to be the conventional wisdom his whole personality.
