I have two degrees (neither in English lit) and just finished working on my 12th book. I've been a writer/editor for decades. I know what sounds and looks right. I don't worry about the rules. For me the important thing is clarity so that the reader can understand.

I won't pay for the Times since they dismissed all the freelancers (including me) from a paper they owned at the time. They may editorialize like Democrats but they run their business like Republicans.

And Trump thanks them for their support. He couldn't succeed without them.

No, they do NOT get to define "what a religion is." These MAGAt idiots need to read not only the 1st Amendment, but Art. 6, para. 3.

No question. There are NO "grown ups" in the room. This is by design. It's to ensure there can be no movement on invoking the 25th amendment.

Many reasons, starting with pure escapism. We need a break from all that real life drama.

My cat, who hides under couch after having her nails clipped, LOVES being combed, even when it's pulling out some knots.

Or wants breakfast. :)

Absolutely, but following the facts and the law. No revenge tour. A totally transparent prosecution of these criminals.

The difference between boss and subordinate.

And JD Vance had BETTER say "Thank you."

Next "No Kings" protest March 28. I have a feeling it's going to dwarf the previous demonstrations.

Putting yourself and your work out there is a major step. There's all sorts of reasons it might have been rejected having nothing whatsoever to do with the quality of your work. Keep at it.

We're at or near a record number of Republicans leaving Congress. They see the handwriting on the wall.

Looking forward to the Big Thaw!

Review – John Candy: I Like Me JOHN CANDY: I LIKE ME. With John Candy, Steve Martin, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Tom Hanks. Directed by Colin Hanks. Rated PG-13 for smoking, some strong language, drug material and suggestive …

I liked it a lot.

If one is against strong gun laws and for the death penalty, spare us the claim that you're "pro-life."

No, we can't. There are people on both sides who have strong reasons to oppose that.

I like how Sherlock Holmes as we know him is already there in embryonic form, but he needs the seasoning that Moriarty of all people provides. I love his comment when Sherlock wants to get the deerstalker hat.

I've written about this film. It's an overlooked modern SF classic.

It's the Trump/Epstein files.

Actually he should offer the drone technology, but ONLY if JD Vance publicly thanks him.

We have to remember that he was never a successful businessman. He merely played one on a TV game show.

There are some classic films that are TRULY classic. "Casablanca" is one of them.

Now here's a new show I'm enjoying: "Young Sherlock." (No connection with 1985 movie "Young Sherlock Holmes.") It creates a backstory for Holmes as a young adult, with clever twists including presenting young Moriarty as a friend of his. It has fun with the Holmes canon without violating it.

Why do people think the books are about philosophy? Nothing wrong with that, but it could just as easily be science fiction or mysteries. :)

No, Putin is his boss.

I skip the singularly unfunny Fallon but include the hilarious Seth Meyers.

A position he will hold forever. THAT will be his "legacy."
