This doesn't even touch the fact that the reason why players exhaust conversation trees is because of the crafted content. Generic content generally isn't worth your time and players can see it coming from a mile away.

It is interesting to me that Google seems to think players need infinite NPC conversations in a game with (I'm assuming) a goal or end state.
Some players will not move on until they have seen all NPC options.
Sometimes you need the NPC to say "I'm in the middle of some Calibrations" over and over
I've run into 3 different instances where my search results have been filtered or edited based on my location.
The internet was cool cause it connected you to the world. Why are we so eager to silo that?

Til that "sword in the stone" might be referencing making a sword by casting metal in a stone mold.
Adds an interesting dimension to the Arthur story!
Oh, the video is somehow more unsettling.
The programmer urge to just build it yourself.
How long could it take, right?

It really says a lot about human psychology that we hate targeted pricing, but love targeted discounts.
This sums up humans, honestly.

A carved king piece from a chess set with an expression that can be summed up as "oh shit, oh shit, oh shit."
I think all chess kings should be required to have this expression.
The existential realization that they are one of the weakest on the board and need the other pieces to survive.
Yes, I think there is a meaningful difference between boring and being desensitized to something.
It's wild to me that people call wikipedia boring. No one remembers when wikipedia rabbit holes were regularly talked about? You can still easily lose an hour on a subject you're interested in. I think we just got used to how cool it is.
An image of a new scientist article with a screenshot of doom. The story blurb is: "Human brain cells on a chip learned to play Doom in a week Neuron-powered computer chips can now be easily programmed to play a first-person shooter game, bringing biological computers a step closer to useful applications"

There are certainly a lot of liberties taken with this diagram!
This diagram estimates the impact force to be 68,000 N or the rough equivalent of being in a car crash.
Buuuut the actual force was probably closer to about ~490 N which is closer to feeling like you were hit by a heavy bag.
A diagram showing a brachiosaurus throwing up and killing a smaller dinosaur due to the sheer force. This diagram estimates the impact force to be 68,000 N or the rough equivalent of being in a car crash. Dinosaur vomit, as a projectile weapon, is a severely under explored area of game design.

One of the coolest things about making your own games is seeing the emergent dynamics that come out of design decisions you make.
If it's surprising and interesting to you, it'll probably be surprising and interesting to your players!
It's strange getting bodied by an NPC you programmed. Kinda proud, kinda salty.

If you're using #pixi.js and trying to use emojis, know that emojis in your word wrapped text WRECKS the spacing.
Instead make the emoji its own text object and then add both of those to the same container to make the spacing work like you'd expect!
Save yourself some hours...

I'll start! I love the card based NPC AI in gloomhaven. The different NPC levels for scaling encounters is also really cool.
