apparently taking three day-trains, an over 14-hour trip each way, would actually cost about the same as flying.
only problem is it's >14 hours. even factoring in getting to and from the airports, going through security, and an extra buffer, a 1.5-hour flight would only take 5.5 hours door-to-door
bonus: the train journey is so ridiculously expensive, that if i pay just 22% more, at €870, i can:
rent a car,
